Chances are that this is more likely what happened.

Is there a chance that a passerby just happened to be in the right place at the right time? Sure, but it sounds like someone's been watching you and it's been close by. Could it be some scumbag that's looking to make a fast buck for dope? The answer again is yes.

This happened very quickly. I would keep me ears and eyes open. Look for a car that's suspiciously shinny all the time. Like I said; someones been watching you. Think about everyone that can watch you....line if sight..

I am guessing your ears will be tuned into the unique sound the Flex offers just in case a local decides to actually use it. Sorry to hear about it ... stealing just isnt right !
 
Have you filed the police report yet? If so what branch did you do it through? PBSO?

Nah. That would be certain to get him in trouble with the law. I would opt for a taser or stun gun, then hog tie him until the police arrive, or drop him off in a really bad neighborhood and take off. That is not legal advice. :laughing:
 
I say if you find him bring him to me il teach him how to say uncle in Spanish. I agree baseball bat comes in handy.

Lotta haters out there, waiting to take advantage the second you let your guard down because they can't stand to see a hard-working person enjoy the fruits of their labor. I live in D.C., and when I use mine outside I have to lug it in the house with me to go to the bathroom or get a glass of water, cause I KNOW what will happen if I don't. Keep your head up, brother, he'll get his just desserts.
 
Do you have a record of the serial number?

Keep a copy of it in your pocket so you can check it against any you happen to spot.
 
Sounds like a neighbor who hated the sound of you polishing. Then the opportunity arose to snatch it. Sorry to hear this . As you can't have things is peace anymore.
 
Hey OP, is there anything that made your Flex unique like a scratch or anything?
 
Appreciate all the feedback from the AG community and the opportunity to just vent! Lots of good suggestions across the board, however the majority of them have already been implemented. I'm currently looking into a set of exterior perimeter cameras linked to a 500GB HD around my house for added peace of mind. Nothing is worse than that violating feeling of your personal property being stolen.... I always have been a firm believer in Karma, as well as not looking back unless you plan on going that way.
 
I have a 4 camera DVR setup around my house for constant monitoring and believe me, 500GB will fill up very quickly!!

I too started with 500GB but it only used to hold about 2-3 days of recordings! (depending on the camera quality and number of cameras)

HD cameras are really worth it and you can easily see the face of the culprit.

I've now upgraded to 1TB WD green and now it easily holds like 5-6 days of data!

Currently I'm looking at 2TB!
(also, be careful about the hdd cooling. As the DVR box is generally tiny, the hdd cant be cooled enough! I lost the HDD that came with it due to heat problems. Now I run a proper heatsink and dedicated fan for the HDD!)

Now a lot of ppl know about the cameras and don't do anything funny, especially when around my house and car!

Earlier when I had gotten it installed and ppl didn't know about it, I caught a lot of ppl just coming unusually close to the cars for no reason!

Having video proof of everything is the strongest evidence ever!! :xyxthumbs:
