Name something you wish you would’ve bought sooner...

The only problem with those is the metal band around the bristles...isn't there the potential for damage, and aren't they going to rust?

I use vinyl electric tape. Easy to apply and works well. You can also use it to stiffen up a detail brush with long bristles by kind of a modified back taping. Start by taping the ferral; then twist the tape 180 so the sticky side is up. Now tape up the bristles as far as you prefer; twist the tape 180 again so the sticky side is down and tape down the brush to the ferral.

Holy cow that's complicated! You should make a video of it and then we can call it the ducksfan ferrule-taping method (DFTM).

Hmm... maybe I could be the next Gary Dean.

It only types out complicated (or I type it out complicated ???). It's actually pretty simple to do. Tape the ferral; flip the tape; tape up as far as desired; flip the tape again; tape back down. Is that better?

I understood it the first time...it just sounds like an advanced technique which might require special training...or at least a YouTube video.

That's how I roll welding leads up. Use duct tape except you start sticky side out and make a few wraps then just wrap over the sticky like you normally would use tape. Worked fantastic and doesn't leave the residue and is much easier to remover.

....I actually like this brush. For exterior use on areas such as honeycomb grills and plastic trim, I want a brush with enough bite to be easily effective. Plus I like the fact that the handle is plastic & wood as opposed to metal, which isn’t ideal to have soaking in water. For interior use, I like these small brushes.

• meguiars burgundy foam pad
• a 3” backing plate and LC pads. I wish meguiars would release 3” versions of their foam pads

Infrared thermometer

It precisely shows me when the surface temperature is ideal to work on.

Shows me when the surface is hot enough to require a modified approach.

Come on, that's not complicated at all. Everyone these days acts like anything that's not instant or more then 1 simple step is complicated

thanks. yes this is something I should have done 12 yrs. when I built the house. I already wasted money on electric heaters & torpedo type kerosene heaters. it was time to do it right.

I wish I had bought rinseless washes sooner. I don't know how much time I would have saved in the past at least 4 years where I'm dragging out a hose and buckets and what not when I could've just done what I do now. Nowadays, I only 2BM wash my car right before the initial detail of spring, because of the chemical decontamination I do and when I need to aggressively wash a car and I use APC as well as car soap and let it dwell on the paint.

A bit of a difference but I wish I had purchased and gone to Autogeek Detail Bootcamp sooner. By going, it confirmed my passion for the work, added tons of new knowledge about systems, products and services and met some really cool people.

GG new rinseless wash. Got it on a sale just to try. Still playing with dilution ratios, but it's now my go to glass cleaner.

I’m with you. The Griots rinseless is the one I reach for the most now. Following the forums trends, I’ve got ONR, ONR WW, Uber, and N914 on the shelf. They’ve all got their perks, the Griots just works for me.

Like you say- it’s awesome for glass. What ratios have you tried/liked? I haven’t strayed from the defaults listed on the bottle yet.
