Hello All,

We are looking to find a replacement for our 2010 Toyota Matrix. My mom misses having an SUV so here are the options -Not in any particular order;

1. 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee ($30,000)
2. 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe ($27,000)
3. 2013 Ford Edge ($27,000)
4. 2013 Ford Escape ($24,000)

The car has to be a base model with AWD/4x4.

What is everyone's opinions on these cars and which one out of those is your pick?

Thanks! :dblthumb2:

I vote for: The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
(The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT would be even better, IMHO.)

:)

I have no experience with any of those cars but from a purely aesthetics point of view, I personally like the looks of the Grand Cherokee the best from that list.

All other things asside you can't beat the warranty on the Sante Fe.

Lots of Jeep fans on here.

I compared the vehicles on kbb.com, Santa Fe and the Jeep are very close. I'd say its either one of them!

I just got a new escape . got rid of my f150 . I like it very much , don't miss the truck at all . I'm a ford guy all the way .

Is the Escape an EcoBoost? If so, weren't there like 3 recalls on them?

Wait a few months and you can pick up the new Cherokee for about 25K, but out of what you have listed....Grand Cherokee

I had a 2011 Flex and it was horrible from a reliability standpoint. It had only 32k miles and would get exhaust fumes like crazy in the cabin. Ford could never fix the issue. I had to sell it for fear of my families safety. Ford quality is not what it used to be.

I have an 11 edge. It's been great no issues at all and very quiet on the road. I like the Jeep Grand Cherokee it's been getting good reviews.
My wife had a Hyundai when we met. It was the most unreliable car I've ever had to work with. Not to mention how cheap it just felt from the doors closing to overall build quality. I personally won't go near a Hyundai.
