Need help starting

:whs: I was wondering the same thing Feed back please:buffing:

Sorry guys for the late response. It didn't go as well as I expected. First we were suppose to meet at 4, which was close to getting dark. He told me there was traffic so we meet up around 5. Then when we got to my house he said he only has a few hours, (I told him a few days ago it will take anywhere from 5-10 hours).

I told him I didn't have enough time to do paint correction. He told me he only had 2-3 hours, he then told me he just wanted the car shinny.

I cleaned his tires with APC then rinsed it with water then cleaned wheels. Then washed the car, clayed the whole car and then waxed it with machine. And cleaned window with RainX. It was getting dark and I didn't have light so I used my car high beam.

Took about 2 hours to finish the whole thing, it got real dark but I made sure I buffed all the wax off. He also help me do most of the wiping, while claying and buffing the car.
Asked him for 50 and he gave it to me.

I really wanted to do the paint correction, for practice and to see if I can remove them.
I called him today to make sure he was happy with it and how it looked, he said it looked good. A happy customer is always good in my books.

He is 100% right get yourself a website you can make your own on go daddy or word press pretty cheap. Post before and after pictures, and list the process that you did on each vehicle. Make a servie page you can look at mine on my site if you want some ideas. Also you can make yourself a facebook page for your business for free. You can also make yourself some business card and place them in businesses in your area.

Next when you get a phone call or an email about someone wanted to get there vehicle detailed make sure you inform them on the processes and products you use. Teach your clients what detailing is all about.

Now would you want to do 3 cars a day for $225 (at $75 a vehicle) or one vehicle at $225?

For every 10 phone calls (new clients) I get I will land about 1-2 jobs. Now for the other 8 people that called they want the cheapest detail possible, but want it to look like a full correction. From experience you dont want to deal with these clients, you want clients that take pride in there vehilce and are willing to pay for the time an effort you put into there car. If you are taking your time and paying attention to detail you want to get paid for it.

Dont under charge for a job because if you get people reffering you to others they are going to mention the price they paid. This is bad because your going to get yourself stuck in a cycle of undercharging because everyone is going to be like well you did the same type of detail for him and it only cost him $75 why are you charging me $225

Nice site, will look into making it site. Was it difficult making one, never tried b4. Still struggling trying to find the right price with what people want.

I'm prob going charge people 125 for wash, clay, wax, dress tires, clean windows and vacuum.

Then paint correction from 200 and up.

If you make a site list base prices, if someone calls for a quote give them a base price and tell them you will be able to give them a full quote once you see the car. If you use the premade templates for Go Daddy or Word Press it is fairly easy. I use Word Press on the back end of my site (to edit it and add new pages or post) and it is like using Word. But the graphics and coding was down by a friend because I didnt want the cookie cutter temples they had

Sounds like a success story to me!! :xyxthumbs:

Today I bought the Bissell Little Green retailed for 80, I got out the door for 55 dollar. Is that what people using starting off? I saw there was a Pro Heat one but that was for retailed 115. Will the Little Green be good enough or do I need the Pro Heat one to get the job done? Thanks guy.

Also was looking for work lamps. Saw one at Lowes for 35 bucks and there was one at Homedepot for 30 bucks. Both 1000W is that bright enough to show swirls? Want to pick one up asap.

Mission Accomplished: Make the car shiny

Yeah he said the car looked so much cleaner after wash and clayed. Maybe in the springs I can do paint correction for him.

I think I got a friend who has an 2010 Accord that said he wanted to removes swirls. Might work on it this month. I want to know what I can do and can't, and if I can't get it done. You guys are always here.:dblthumb2: Appreciate all the help guys. Thanks a lot!

Do an advanced search for thread titles with Little green machine or LGM and I think you'll find pics of results with that machine.

As far as the lamps go, don't get the Huskee model with the quick adjusters that you squeeze to re adjust the light's position. While the quick adjusters on the pole are fine the ones on the lights themselves are quite troublesome, at least mine are.

Thanks for the heads up. They have a cheaper company at Home Depot called Work Force. The build doesn't look as sturdy as Huskee. The one at Lowes for 35 looks like a lot better build. I will check into those quick adjusters.

I just finished 205 my whole car. Got rid of all the light swirls on my car. Can I use detailing spray to get rid of all the dust? Then apply sealant then wax?

Detailed spray to clean dust off, then use Klasse high gloss sealant, then souveran paste wax? Does that look right?

Yea that will work. Give the sealant some time to cure and bond to the paint before you top it with a coat of wax.

I let sealant sit for about an hour before I wiped it off. Then applied Souveran. Should I apply 2nd coat of Souveran or would it be a waste?
