Need help with buying a few things

Would getting an extractor be like stepping up into the detailing business? I know a lot of full time detailer uses it. But can I get by without one?

I used to have an extractor that didn't provide heat. When I bought the Mytee Lite II, I certainly considered it a move up. It just enables you to tackle jobs you couldn't before.

Some people will say you can get by without one...but I highly disagree. Sure, you could pressure wash the carpet, scrub it, then wet vac it up. But, that leaves the carpet too wet...plus, it won't smell very nice. I love the extractor. There's no comparison to a freshly extracted carpet IMO.

Agreed. This is exactly why people should join. We clearly are there for each others questions! I think every single time one of us posts...you see members from that group respond quickly, and usually more than once. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks!:props: Going try to find some threads about extractors so I can find out more info on the one I want. Mytee is on top of my list for now.

The Mytee Lite, and the Aztec are what I found to have the best results. If you're willing to wait a little while...I actually own both. I bought the Aztec for the mobile unit. Just haven't used it yet. But, I'd be glad to let you know how it is in comparison.

Yeah I try to check up on it couple times a day. We should make a thread on starting and business related questions and see if AG can make it a sticky on How to make money detailing cars.

Aztec hod rod? That thing look like a squirrel compared to the Mytee.
 
From my experience - pre hitting the carpets is important - I have used crappy extractors but pre hit everything by hand and it turned out great - go the hard way first then go the easy way later.
 
megs DA system, pressure washer w/ foam cannon, etc, etc. the best of luck to you... :xyxthumbs:
 
What this Meg DA system? I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I got a foam cannon coming in FRIDAY!!! Right now I'm using an electric power power and it seems to get the job done.

Yeah I was thinking about that... but it doesn't really have a professional tone to it.. I might be wrong but what do you guys think?

Can it be pulled off? Would you recommend someone Slickooz detailing?
 
That's your job; you have to make it sound professional. Since few people have heard of such a name, they cannot draw a proper opinion as to whether it sounds professional or not. But if you do a professional job, and the results show, then will people recognize that “Slickooz Detailing” is without a doubt a professional business. When they see your logo in town they will be reminded of you awesomeness, no, your “professional” awesomeness!:xyxthumbs:
