Evening Folks,

I'm looking for some input on some good cutting pads, correcting pads, polishing pads. And what are some good compounds polishes to pair them with. I know this is all opinion based, just curious what most people have had success with.

Thanks guys

I've been enjoying LC ThinPro pads with M105 and M205. Just picked up a set of Boss pads (MF and yellow and white pads) that I plan to use with Griots correcting cream. Can't personally vouch for them yet but they get a lot of love here.

Personally I use and prefer;
For DA:-
Scholl Spider pads (Honey, purple, blue and white cut).
Scholl waffle finishing pads (jewelling on softer paint or LSP application).
Buff and Shine MF pads (light and heavy cut).

For Rotary:-
Scholl Honey (jewelling) 5"
Scholl spider purple and blue 3"
Rupes pads; White, yellow, green and Blue (3" precision work)
Lake country purple foamed wool 5" & 3".

I also use some Lake Country CCS pads and they are OK, but nothing special IMO.
And finally Carpro pads for specialty issue (velvet / denim and gloss pads when required).

Have used shinemate, lake country, and meguiars pads, and while all work I genrally enjoy using the aboe more..
Either better feel, results or durability... IME only..

What machine are you working with?

^^This^^

And, what are you looking to correct? Are you correcting your own vehicle? If so, what make?

Are you detailing professionally?

Just a little more info will help guys answer your question a little better.

Personally, I've had my Ram truck since brand new. Always taken the best (that I can) care of it, and the PC w/ LC flat pads work wonders for me. Ram paint is neither too soft or too hard as far I can tell, but other manufactures paints are totally different.

Also, in what condition is the paint you wish to correct? Do you just have minor swirls, or has the vehicle been driven through the woods with branches scraping it, then to the local auto-wash to grind the dirt in?

My vote goes to 5.5" boss pads. Like an entirely new machine for my GG6
