Need to restock some sealant---Is there any WOWO sealant with 1 year durability?

curious which of these is recommend for a car with a sealant and not a coating, specifically I applied powerlock in June. Would like to "refresh" in early september, but want to be sure the WOWO sealant is compatible and not one designed for a coating. It seems many claim to be a good topper for a coated car, or one with no protection at all. But don't mention if they're ok with a car with a polymer based protection layer already on.

Belo, I don’t have a great answer, other than 10 Min Sealant says it’s OK on top of anything. I use the SiO2 WOWO sprays just recently on PBL Sealant, but that sealant is resin based so they may cling better to it than traditional sealants, and I apply so often that I can’t guess durability on a sealant... but they look very nice and exhibit coating-ish water behavior on top of PBL.

Ultima paint guard
Mckees 37 10 min seal
Reload

All work very well....

Nothing lasts longer than 3 to 4 months, in my opinion, and in addition to my list of a few months ago, due to the way it applies, I think the blackfire SI02 spray beats all of them…

yeah I'm certain that reload and cancoat are a no-go. I keep buying mckees and now I'm feeling guilty I'm not trying other brands haha. But they always seem to have a good solution for my needs. I have their extender spray wax and haven't even tried that yet and think the 10 minute would have been a better choice.

Extender is really good, but it’s lite and meant for being applied often. It’s a very good refresher. 10 Min would be much more substantial with only a single application, but Extender is a perfect topper for that if you do decide to get it (so not like you would be wasting the Extender).

I've gotten more than 3-4 months from a few through winter. Although not performing at the same level as the first 3-4 months, they went about 6. For longevity and ease of application Sonax PNS is hard to beat. FK 1000, DG 111, Collinite 845, and DG Track Claw all perform very well too.

Agree. All of the sealants I've used lasted around six months, even though some pretty harsh winters where the car was covered in salt for a month or more. The only products I've used which didn't last six months are AIO's, high carnauba content waxes, and some spray waxes which were never intended to be LSPs.

No doubt countless members here have tried Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0.

I've never done any side by side tests with the products you wish to compare to, am a regular Reload user, but cannot tell you how all compares in the longevity department.

I will say though, that this Sealant is one of the most beautiful looking Sealants, and one of the most easiest I've ever used. This stuff is just fun to apply, and to remove. And the looks are absolutely stunning!

The entire Wolfgang line are some really great products that work. If you had to pin me down to only one brand to use on a treasured vehicle, I'd have to pick Wolfgang as my #1 choice.

I get about 4 months with DGPS if left alone. 6 months no problem if you top with Deep Gloss Liquid Seal after a few months and maintain with Deep Gloss Spritz. I can't compare it to the brands mentioned above, but DGPS is absolutely beautiful.

I have used reload, McKees, Ultima, Crystal seal, sonax and blackfire SI02 spray.

Without a doubt the easiest and best experience I've had is with the blackfire SI02. If flashes off slightly slower so you can see where you've been, it's got an ingredient in it that lets it glide over the surface on application, and never streaks, and seems to vanish right into the paint. It's my go to now. Durability after two months seems to be really good.

I haven't gotten close to 6 months with most sealants through Winter, esp WOWO. Summer is different, especially with gentle washing. The average across all sealants for me is ~8 weeks. Obviously some are higher, some are lower.

Environmental conditions play such a big part in protection durability that it's hard to say how long a given product will last. I'm in North Texas and around November of 2016 I applied Wolfgang Fuzion to my Challenger. It's a hybrid wax/sealant that is wiped on and then wiped off (letting it sit on the panel for a little bit is helpful). It didn't start wearing off until maybe March of the following year. The car is garage kept, but does get driven a lot. It was cleaned with ONR, D114, maybe a few other rinseless washes, and probably a few traditional wash products too, but nothing fancy. I'd say mild weather, safe cleaning, and consistent shelter from everyday elements helped to keep the protection lasting its longest. I don't think Wolfgang Fuzion would last this long in a more difficult climate.

Exactly, I can say souverän lasted 4 months, and was still beading when I re applied it on the camaro. For me to just say it's garage kept isn't saying enough to describe the conditions it faces. It spends 10 hours or less outside a month. It never ever sees rain. It's washed every couple of weeks . So basically this car only faces about a weeks worth of elements in four months. If you compare it to the average garage kept daily driver. At this rate something lik CQUK would be a lifetime coating. The extravagant life claims can be reached under extraordinary conditions. On my daily drivers there's been huge differences in longevity of lsp's depending on where I lived. Out of Michigan, Texas, Kansas, and Colorado; Colorado has been the harshest on them. When people give their longevity statements. It would be very helpful to know what area, and more detail as to the conditions the car faces.

McKees 10 minute paint sealant and Blackfire SIO2 spray are in my experience the top products available right now. Love them both. Both super easy to apply and bead water incredible well. After 2 months I see no degregation on either car. Mine has McKees and wife’s BF.

No wipe on wipe off works as well as a dedicated sealant you apply, let haze and wipe off. WGDGPS,BF,PL will always work better then spray sealants like Reload,C2V3 etc.

This is the one thing I go back and forth on. My ego tells me that because a WOWO is a thick cream, feels substantial, needs to haze, and takes work to apply and remove that it's going to last longer. But at the end of the day both WOWO and WOWA sealants leave very thin layers of protection. And hazing says nothing about their protective qualities.

What I do believe (but still have no proof) is that WOWO sealants have more fillers and cleaning agents then their WOWA counterparts

I have both in my arsenal and of course I want the best protection. But at the end of the day I normally choose the path of least resistance which is a good WOWA

I had Reload last just around 4 months in humid Texas heat on a non garaged daily driver. The product was applied after a proper paint prep process of wash, claybar and then IPA/water wipe down. The car was washed twice during these 4 months through a touch less car wash.(Even though I begged my girlfriend not to) At right around the 4 month mark the product had very large and lazy beads and slow sheeting. It surely wasn’t impressive but I was surprised there was still some protection on the surface.

I’ve also used SONAX PNS. To me it drags when applying and won’t be slick until at least 1-2washes but after that it’s definitely very slick and exhibits great hydrophobic qualities. If I recall correctly it lasted about 5 months maintaining it with meguiars quick detail spray every 2-3 washes or so. This was applied to a tundra that gets driven daily and sits under a covered awning.
Last but not least was Megs ULW+ on a DD Volvo that gets garaged at night. Now this isn’t a spray on wipe off product but I applied it in about 40 mins. It’s nice because it doesn’t whiten black trim so you can apply a little faster and messier w/o worry. I applied in cross hatch motion after wash, claybar, and ipa wipedown. Fun fact with this one is that I applied it in sub 40 degree weather inside a cold garage but used a heat gun on the panel prior to and post applying the sealant. This screenshot taken of a video I made was after 2 months of being driven never washed. Had excellent beading/sheeting properties.View attachment 65275
