New 5 inch pads for the 4" Backing Plate on Flex 3401

Any link to these on the store? I couldn't find them

Just to note, as a normal practice, for any article I write that includes showcasing a product... at the "bottom" of the article I type something that looks like this,

On Autogeek.net

Lake Country Hybrid Power Finish 5 Inch Foam Pads

You'll need the 4" backing plate to use these pads...

FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System

The above is at the bottom of the first post of this thread.

Thanks Evan for getting the link.

In my honest opinion the overall system has its cons and pros. After having this system for around a year now with the interchangeable backing plates and a large variety of sizes and colors in the hybrid line, I can say that I am officially going back to using LC hydrotech line. The reason is as followed. I have noticed on many of hybrid pads that the product tends to soak in rather then staying on the face of the pad. This becomes quit aggravating when using compounds such as fg400. I recently did a comparison of the hybrid white polishing pad vs the LC tangerine ht pad. The issue as stated was that the product tended to soak into the making the compounding step not so enjoyable. I then tried using the hydrotech tangerine pad. Not only did the product spread out smoother and broke down very uniform, the finish IMO was day and night compared to the white polishing hybrid pad. I will stick to the simple three pad hydrotech line! I never had any issues with the backing plate quality though. LC came out with a great idea developing this hybrid system with their Bp, but it's not for everyone.
Flex 3401 pad selection
Major correction- LC purple foam wool( amazing and truelly and unbelievable finish, take that megs mf system)
Intermediate cut- LC ht tangerine pad
Finishing- LC crimson by pad and LC constant pressure red finishing pad

Thanks for your input! I'm also hooked on the the LC HT pads as well. I started out using CCS pads but soon after switched to Menzerna products and LC HT pads with excellent results both in shorter correction time, less product usage, and a vast improvement in finish after each step. I've always used 6.5" pads but have been considering swapping to 5.5" or 5" pads. Guess I'll have to swap to 5.5" pads if I want to stock with the HT pads.

The only advantage IMO to the hybrid line with the 3401 is that they offer a 5 inch pad vs 5.5.

I have really enjoyed the hybrid 5" pads with my LC interchange. Maybe I can't do much of a comparison because they are the first QUALITY foam pad I've used on my Flex, but I can't get over how well they perform. I have used the tangerine, white, and blue all with excellent results. Prior to purchasing the Hybrid pads I did a lot of reading on the HT pads too, but read just the opposite than above. I read they soak up product and make for more product waste than any other Lake Country pad, so I opted for the hybrids.

If you read the the description of the design aspect of the LC ht pads, you will find out the product being applied to these pads go further then others. What people say vs actually using the two different types of pads to compare provides more fact on performance. I own both types of pads. I believe Mr. Phillips has used both. Maybe he can give some advice on this topic.

I agree 100% about the people say versus reality. As I stated, I strictly went to the Hybrid pads due to their popularity and Mike Phillips/Autogeek employees that recommended them. I highly considered the HT pads until I looked more into the Hybrid pads. I'm sure they still do a great job.

I agree with these selections, except swapping the LCW PFW with Tuff Buff Lambswool pads. I do not use the Cyan HT pad as it shreds too easily. However, HT pads make the buffing cycle longer and smoother compared to any other line of foam pads I've tried.

I have not been blown away by the hybrid pads. They're not bad, but I like HT's better.
