"New" Adam's Polisher

As for "Buy American", that's fine if the product is top notch and priced competitively. But unfortunately it cost an arm and a leg to manufacture anything in America today for a variety of reasons. If everyone "bought American" just because it was made in America, we would still be producing (and driving) those terrible front wheel drive cars and those huge floating boats the Big 3 turned out in the 1970s & 1980s, because there would have been no need to improve them. Innovation and quality is worthwhile, regardless of what continent it comes from. Look at the Italian made big stroke DAs from Rupes. Game changers for sure. Or all the innovative products from CarPro. Your not willing to use one because it's not made in America? That is a silly idea IMHO.

Agreed.

I find it funny that a company who has no affiliation with AG, and for all intents and purposes 'could' be considered a 'competitor' , is being discussed on this forum. Love them or hate them, you're giving them free exposure.

For the record, Porter Cable has now shifted production of the PC to China. Sad, but true. Only time will tell how this shift will affect the quality of the polisher.

Free exposure? I mean its a thread of people calling them liars, how's that help?

There has already been one poster in this thead who said their position encourages him to purchase from them. I'm not saying it's going to convince everyone here to jump ship, but if it gained them even one customer as a result of this thread, the thread itself is counterproductive and the free press has already resulted in a net gain for them.

Adams will never be the new chemicals guys. Chemical guys products are very reasonably priced.

Besides who cares what the guy sells. If anybody thinks they can get the public to buy into the USA only thing, then I guess it tells you how naive the buying public is.

Other than weapons and booze, few things are actually 100% American made. Isn't carnauba from south America? MF towels from the Far East? Ford cars made in mexico?

I mean...come on man.

Please, they don't even want you to hashtag them on other social media outlets as they believe that you are sending high traffic to promote your business or other competitive products that have nothing to do with them.

So we can have say a pic of their polish and pad but use another company's wax and someone gets hostile over there and wants you to take it down.

Meguiar's, ecotouch, sonax, and even chemicalguys wouldn't even give a care to any of that nonsense.

Lol at Adam's. They seem so "pushy" for us to buy their products now.

110% money back guarantee? Has anyone ever returned anything? I have gallons of their stuff that I will no longer use. I use to support them religiously before all of this new bs. Yep I was a fanboy sadly.

I use a multitude of products let me first state, Adams being one of many

I was at a car event where they were part of. I had this nice bird crap etch on my hood. I had them take a look at this and they actually recommended a product that was not theirs. Personally I was very impressed as they could have pushed one of their products. They are detailing enthusiasts just like all of us. I will support any company who goes above and beyond.

It's about time for another Autogeek order :).

To bring about another perspective, I wonder if perhaps by their statement to stay away from the PC, if they meant the PC rotary (or any other rotary), rather than the 7424XP? This would make more sense to me than anything else.

No. They actually have a PC 7424 XP there in the video and in their hands when they are talking about it. There is no confusion.

Other "facts" about the 7424 XP I learned from the video:

- its "decent" for beginners
- you don't "want to do" more than a panel or two at a time or it will vibrate your hands off the end of your wrists
-the tool only orbits

Last, but not least:

- "it's very difficult to get a perfect finish with the Porter Cable"

They then go on to recommend a drill for use with 4" pads.

Well I am a huge fan of the Cyclo! It is one of my favorites ! It is built for several lifettimes and is beautifully balanced. It should be considered a serious polisher. With the variable speed it can do a lot of correction. It is much lighter than you would think too! My other USA made machine is a DynaBrade rotary with their Random Orbital Head, It to is built to last. These are two of my all time favorites in addition to my German made Flex 3401 and my ultra light weight Festool Shine-X Rotary. I am blessed I can splurge on these great tools and they will be around long after I am gone.
The USA still makes some fine tools as do the Germans. These tools are investments instead of commodities,

this is a funny post regarding Adams. my pc7424xp is built in Mexico........nobody cares but the second it says made in China its the end of the world. heck my dewalt 849 is built in China and I never had a single issue with it so to me, Adams is trying to promote the Cyclops that's all. like the saying goes if it's not broken don't fix it.

I don't mind/blame them for promoting their new polisher, just don't start telling a bunch of lies or else be prepared to be called out

I get sick of reading this garbage

Recommending someone try vinegar or a magic eraser doesn't count you know?

Is it just me or do these guys seem to not know what they are talking about? They make statements that I find hard to believe. Forget the China vs. Mexico debate. They just seem clueless. IMHO

Your guess is as good as mine. I understand their position on the China thing, but I can't understand how the PC went from being the cornerstone of their busieness to being completely cast out. IMHO, it would have been more responsible for them to just say we are no longer offering the PC due to the current manufacturing location, but the Cyclo is now our non-forced rotation DA option. By commenting on the finishing ability of the PC, with blatantly incorrect information tends to open the door to more widespread doubt in their other messages. We all know the value of a PC and the fact that it can correct a vehicle to a show car finish, which was their position at one point too. Why they have changed their tune is beyond me.

I just have difficulty with their statements. I own each of the machines they show including that dreaded Flex rotary that is only used if you just painted your car or you are a professional. Now, I have been using the Cyclo with brushes but about to change to using the PC with a brush and put the Cyclo back to polishing paint. But, it has more to do with the best function for the equipment, not the Country of origin. As far as I am concerned, all of my equipment came from Stuart, Florida USA. How and where Max got it matters not to me.

I agree with you to a point, but historically speaking Chinese made tools simply don't last. The chinese are the absolute kings of cutting every corner they can to increase profit margin. What will that mean for the PC, we'll have to wait and see. I personally have never had much luck with Chinese built tools.

I have used their products including my PC 7424xp that I purchased from them some years back. Adams is over priced and as I have said in the past when the junkman went so did I, way to many homers on their forums it's all hype, I am all about made in the U.S.A. That's a good thing for sure. And yes I use chemical guys product for the most part. As far as the polisher I have never used one but I don't think I would give up my porter cable, I also have a flex which I bought from adams.
