"New" Adam's Polisher

I used to be an avid user of the Adams product line. As I did more research I found out that I was overpaying like crazy for their stuff. Oh well, lesson learned. They do have good customer service though.

Your guess is as good as mine. I understand their position on the China thing, but I can't understand how the PC went from being the cornerstone of their busieness to being completely cast out. Why they have changed their tune is beyond me.

Maybe it's as simple as Black & Decker or whoever it is who owns Porter Cable now stopped giving them they discount they used to enjoy, so perhaps this is simply tit-for-tat retaliation.

I have used their products including my PC 7424xp that I purchased from them some years back. Adams is over priced and as I have said in the past when the junkman went so did I, way to many homers on their forums it's all hype, I am all about made in the U.S.A. That's a good thing for sure. And yes I use chemical guys product for the most part. As far as the polisher I have never used one but I don't think I would give up my porter cable, I also have a flex which I bought from adams.
I'm sure Junkman left may have had something to do with Adam's dropping him from their website.

Im a frequent visitor over there and most of my stuff is Adam's. They do make quality stuff and a lot of it is easy to use. I have noticed as time goes on, their products have been getting better. They are a small company which dictates their higher prices. Another thing I want to point out though, is their shipping prices are pretty reasonable compared to others.

I personally believe that not one car care product line has the best of everything and I am venturing out and have tried new things (i.e. PERL, UWW+, DG 901, 281 etc.) and will continue to.

The comment about how a PC won't finish well on a black car, id really like to see it because I have never read that one before from Adam's or any place else. It's funny how people bash other companies without any experience from them and/or not getting the whole story.

One thing is certain IME they do have one of the best customer service in the business and will back you up 110% with their 110% guarantee. What other car care company's CEO will call you after hours to thank you for your business & asking feedback on their products from making their first order with them? I actually recall a while back where they had a disgruntled customer that didn't know how to polish a car and Adam's offered to send someone out to him to show him how to do it.

With that said, sometimes it may not be all about products for some people. It may be about their experience/customer service community etc. That's why Adam's has such a loyal gathering.

Could be, but Delta has chosen to build the PC in China now and they have always been against offering products produced there. They are holding their ground when it comes to that philosophy which they strongly adopted.

I'm not a fan boy, but I currently have and will continue to use quite a few of their products because I do really like some of them, but I'm definitely a little lost with their recent marketing tactics.

Adam has personally gone out of his way to help me with with my Flex PE-14 when the vendor i purchased it from would not. That alone will keep me looking at their offerings, but like I said, lately something seems amiss over there.

Have you ever tried returning stuff? When I did they fought me on it due the containers not being full.

No, not me personally. How long ago was this? I know someone who had some DS for close to a year and decided to return it to see what would happen and they refunded him his money, no ? asked. I didn't believe it myself.

About 5 months ago. I had had the stuff for around 8 months but due to assignments in the military I wasn't home much and they gave me grief on that as well even after explaining. Maybe just a bad experience, still left a poor taste for me, I won't be purchasing again.

This.

The $$$ was a turn off for me.

Wow, why of a sudden all this hate. :wow: They stopped selling the PC and adopted the cyclo a while ago so why start attacking now? Also, lot of misinformation on this thread about their supposed "statements".
I don't mind/blame them for promoting their new polisher, just don't start telling a bunch of lies or else be prepared to be called out
What lies? I actually like their videos and they seem like nice people. :xyxthumbs:

What lies?

The lie about the PC shouldn't be used on black paint. That may be the stupidest comment I've ever read on the interweb

Maybe they didn't lie and are just ignorant

They never said that the PC shouldn't be used on dark paint, they should you should stay away from the PC on dark paint as it is difficult to get a perfect finish with it. This was said where they were recommending tools for beginners. However, they then go on to demonstrate the PC with their new polishes on a black car with both foam and micro fiber pads. Both times they got 95% or more correction on the black paint.

Not only that, they don't sell the PC anymore, yet they still include it in their videos to support people who did buy the PC.

I hear many good things about their car soap.

Here it is action.

Just did this yesterday, almost an all Adams detail.

My take on Adams is there are equal or better products out there for less money. IMO their target audience is not professional Detailers who do this for a living or side money. It's more for the hobbyist, taking the guess work out of products, tools, pads etc with color coordination, how to videos and detailed instructions.

I never understood how Adam could instruct customers not to keep the backing plate rotating on the PC while polishing or compounding. I remember watching that video scratching my head.

I watched their last 4 video series featuring the PC, and not once did they say the backing plate shouldn't spin.

They don't instruct that. They suggest drawing a line with a marker to make sure it keeps moving like everyone else does.

They did say in one video the PC pad only orbits, doesn't spin and they did say you should stay away from a PC if you have a dark car. I do not know the exact quote, and am not watching those videos again, but that's the gist of it. Both are pieces of misinformation. I've also seen in past videos them demoing the PC (when they sold it) showing proper technique is the pad not spinning - just jiggling.
