New Charger HELLCAT!

When u have a family u need a 4 door, those 2 extra doors r not cool, but the charger is a cool looking 4 door IMO but than I own 1

I dont get why you need 700+ HP in a 4 door car.

Because racecar.

I can appreciate that it is AWD and may actually be able to transfer a good portion of that 700 hp.

But for the money, I'd rather be in a noble m400. Less than half the displacement, close to half the weight, faster to sixty and among the sexiest cars ever IMO.

The GF is not happy, I kept poking the bear telling one might show up next spring!

Because that last gallon of skim milk at the store is going to be yours, man!

I see what you're saying, but lets be real, you don't NEED 700+ HP in any car. Well maybe some ginormous RV - maybe. But a commuter car with 700+ is just overkill.

No such thing.

Ask yourself, " How long can she really stay mad?" If the answer is, "For longer than I'll own the car," then consider the purchase carefully.

Or, just remember that you won't hear her complaining when you drop the pedal to the floor and are 4 blocks away in 5 seconds.

She will complain until she gets to drive it, then I'll be stuck in the minivan!

I had NO idea that the Charger Hellcat is going to AWD, the Challenger isn't and because its the same platform, for the most part, surprised AWD isn't going on the Challenger Hellcat too.

I find it amazing we (USA) can take the easy way out and shove a large engine and blower into a car, AWD from an SUV and call it a legend in the making. It would be nice to be "ahead of the curve", pardon the pun, and start making smaller cars that handle and accelerate, stop and steer, this is the future, seriously! I'm not just saying this because I have a hot hatch either, just looking forward, you can only look back for so long. I'd like to see a smallish, mid-sized domestic with forced induction, AWD, big brakes (not those fake azz covers Mustang owners use), a manual option and proper tire and wheel packages, something like the Ford Fusion, spelled FuZion w/ the SHO engine, AWD, 6 spd LSD and killer brakes and tire/wheel package, can you say S4 killer! GM can do this too, well, let's get the ignitions sorted out first, with the Malibu, drop in the turbo V6 from Vauxhall, AWD and tune the suspension and have at it! The Regal GS is "almost there" right now, just needs to visit Jenny Craig and add more power to the 4 or drop in the turbo V6 from the Insigna VRX, a no brainer!

^ I agree. America auto manufacturers seem to feel HP can absolve all sins. None of these bloated 5 zillion HP 'Merican muscle cars handle well or ever bring anything but HP to the table.

They are sort of trying to relive the glory days of Road Runners and Hemis. The retro names seem to say to me we can't think of anything better.

Dunno. These cars just remind me of being just sort of bland. But, people will buy them so the can say they have 700 HP and do a killer donut in the parking lot.

700+ HP in front of a Mopar auto transmission? Yikes.

I can't stand small cars so I don't buy them. I wont buy one for my kids. Some people like big motors with monster torque. If you don't like it don't buy it. They went out and built something that they will sell everyone they make. The lucky owners of these cars will have a great investment for the future. I bet they won't sit on the lot as long as a "hot hatch". If I had the money to throw at either one of them I would because that is what I like. I would rather have either one of the Hellcats than a small car that "handles".
In 20 years people will still drool over the hellcat, period.

Eaglefan, I hate to be the one to break this to you, especially being from Detroit and all, but there's a world of cars outside of "investment" vehicles. I do agree, they will be "investments" and you know what, standing around a car and looking at the investment is about as much fun and doing burnouts on Woodward this weekend, LOL! These "investments" will just sit in a climate controled garage, colllecting dust and "hoping" they rise in value. Its the same mentality of storing the GNX that cost $40-70K back in late 87-88, I've seen these "investments" roll across the block for about $40K, hope you enjoyed all that car offered to you, oh yeah, it was parked since Regan was president, that's a shame.

As far as not liking small cars, that's cool, to each his own but like I said there's a world outside of the Muican muscle that smokes the tires for the length of 2 football fields, trust me, been there, done that! I'm not saying one is better than the other but let's not give FCA (do you know what that stands for Eaglefan?) Extra credit here, they took an exsisting engine and added a blower to it and sell it for an MSRP of $60K, wonder how many will sell for that, hmm.

I've read FCA is going to come out with an SRT Dart w/ AWD and turbo next year, this is what I'm talking about, but while we're at it, change the name...PLEASE!

This is an episode of Jay Leno's Garage with Tim Kuniskis, President & CEO of Dodge/SRT brands discussing and driving the new Challenger Hellcat. This car is more than HP and I believe that they will sell. 700 HP is not necessary, but alot of fun.

I will say this, FCA is looking to make something for everyone, the soon to be released SRT Dart looks awesome, Helcat and Vipers and SRT's!!!

I like the old Chargers and Challengers too, but I was referring to the new Charger and the new Challenger, both of which share a common architecture, engine, drivetrain, etc. :dblthumb2:

We should be thankful cars like this even exist with the growing concern for the environment! :righton:

707 horsepower at your local Dodge dealership...who woulda thought?! :cruisin:

Dodge is claiming 20 mpg in ECO mode. Pretty decent for a full size car with a V8
