New Flex 3401 coming tomorrow, how much learning curve orver DA?

the way it is written even if you have no understanding of detailing you will get it.

That's nice to hear. When I wrote this first book I tried very hard to take each topic and write about it in a way that even someone brand new to detailing could grasp the,

What to do
Why to do it

As my old soccer coach used to tell us it is the basics, we all tend to over complicate things.

The book helps to remind me of this also.

Couldn't agree more...

When detailing a car, the primary results will come from focusing on the basics, not the little tiny things. That's why often times when I'm replying to someone in a thread I remind them not to take something that should be very simple and turn it into rocket science.

:)

Ok, just an update. tried all recommendations and here is what I came up with.

  • Primed pad, as I normally would for DA, added 3 pea size drops of compound and reduced area to 1 foot square area, still running at speed 5.
  • Dusted less, so next section reduce speed to 4, dusting almost completely gone.
  • Cleaned pad on fly with pad brush briefly after each section.

This combo, worked very well for the rest of the passenger side.

Just a few tweaks to your techniques and success...

Thanks for the update, I'm confident your follow-up will help many others that read this thread into the future.

Thanks Mike, changes and comments are very welcome. I did not think to bullet point them. Appreciate the help..

Sometimes I do that when I quote people to make specific points easier to read.

People are naturally scanners and won't read huge blocks of text, especially on a computer screen but most people will read bullet points.
