Applied it today in the shade. Weather was perfect. 70 degrees with no humidity. It started drying/hardening before I even finished applying to the section. Was pretty tough to wipe off, but it came off completetly. Sprayed the applicator and a couple spritzes on the panel. Didn't work a large section. Any tips?

like any coating it is dependent upon conditions which yours sounded perfect. The only suggestion I have is to work smaller sections and wipe a bit sooner. I do 2x2 perhaps a little larger areas and wipe fairly quickly vs letting it set-up as I have done with other coatings. no issues. watch it and when you begin to see it flash and present what I call the rainbow effect, start removing it.

a few months back I switched to the CarPro Suede rags to remove coatings as they are the only 100% lint free option I've found and on my black cars that was a real pain. They work great for removing coatings and when done just toss them into a bucket of warm water with your choice of cleaners. I use 3D Towel Clean. Same with the applicators.

Hope that helps.

I agree with pdq here. Sounds like it was an ideal app session for you. I also like the concept of working smaller sections in those conditions. That insures you've focused on getting that area right. May take a bit longer but I hate high spots from overreaching too large of an area.

You experience sounds almost identical to the problems I had when using the Blackfire paint coating. Even doing a 1'x1' area, the stuff would start to dry instantly while being spread which lead to a sticky mess where your MF towel would stick to the surface.

The new version is supposed to have a longer working time. I wonder what happened?

Great water behavior, but it dries way too quick when applying, IMO.

It does have a long working time. Let's get to the bottom of this...:)

1. Were you using the supplied applicator?
2. What temperature was it when the coating was applied?
3. Working inside, or outside?
4. How was the surface prepped?

Was it windy at all. I would imagine any wind would cause the solvents to evaporate faster.

I don't think there were many who liked the Blackfire coating. Did they ever reformulate that one??

man, I just used it last weekend outside in the sun light here in the desert and it was warm but it went on and came off like a breeze, hope you find the culprit.

Here's a 50/50 of mckees and an acrylic coating. Mckees is on the passenger side and this is about 2 weeks since the last wash

If u look u can see a huge difference in dusting over two weeks and remember I live in the middle of a dessert.

U can also see how the frost doesn't stick to the paint like the other side does.

Here's one of water beading on another hood

Ahh, ok, that pic looks great. I'd say you are very happy with it then.

It's good,I don't run anything on my car for long. Application was easy though and in the outdoors with dust and sunlight with no issues like you would get with others
