Hello everyone! Just joined up here in hopes of getting good tips and guidence when it comes to detailing. I worked at a detail shop about 10 years ago when I was in highschool, it was actually my first job! I need need to learn more about buffing since I didn't do much of it while I worked there. I have. Black 2002 Grand Prix GTP daily driver and a 99 Nassau Blue Metallic Corvette that I love to drive constantly and keep looking like new.
Now my first question, I'm looking at buying a porter cable buffer which is why I came to this site in the first place. I was looking at one of the kits that have a bunch of pads so I have a good starter setup. I was looking at the 7424xp which is the dual action orbital one if Im reading right. Do I want the orbital or not? Keep in mind I am somewhat of a newbie. Both the vette and the grand prix have the typical swirls a driven car would have but the grand prix is a little worse. (neither car has ever been thru a drive through car wash, hand wash only) and paint is shiny on both. Which kit would you recommend? Help is appreciated and TIA!
