Got a new grill surround today.
This is what the old one looks like:
Looking closer the finish is messed up:
Replacement wasn't too easy. 12 year old clips hold the hold thing in and were hard to unclip without breaking the whole mounting. Luckily, I was able to get it apart without breaking anything.
One of the self locking clips would not come out, and of course you can't reach it. So I ended up taking out the right side headlight assembly so I could get at it.
I also figured I'd polish the headlights, they had some faint scratches:
This "extra tabs" weren't on the original grill:
Of course, the tabs meant the grill wouldn't sit right on the vehicle. Which made me have to do this whole job 2x. The tabs had to come off and be filed down.
This is the whole assemble. I cleaned it, clayed it, hand polished it with Optimum Finish Polish, and OptiCoated it:
All back together:
Corrected the headlights as well with Optimum polishes. OptiCoated them as well:
