New LC Flex Plate system

Gotta agree that I'm not a fan of the decision to make the 4" pad. Should have been a bit smaller.

Eric, 1992 called and they want their shirt back! :) Thanks for the product update and for always updating and tweaking the LC line.

Well, its a good thing my flight pants were in the wash, lol

With the design on the machine being as long as it is, we decided to stop at 4", otherwise there is a chance it may be to small to work.

I've got this by my question is what pads do you recommend to be used with 4" BP?!?

Obviously 4" pads are not big enough to be safe.

5.5" pads are too bid for 4" pads

.. let alone 6", 6.5" and 7" BP's.

Are you about to release 4.5" or 5" pads to go with this 4" BP, or otherwise I don't see any existing pad that can be safely used with the 4" pad.

I thank you for your answer Eric.

:haha: :thankyousign:

That's an ex from Doug's past. Although many have been curious, Doug has provided very little information. Here's what my mad profiler skills make of this beauty: She's from about a decade ago in Doug's past. She's about a decade younger than Doug. She looks high maintenance. She's nice to look at. I know I got at least 2 out of 4 of those right (no, really Sherlock? :p) How'd I do on the other two I wonder?

Like Setec said, 4", just be more careful. I didn't bother asking Eric why he didn't make a 3.5", I figured it would be to small to work.

Sounds good, I have a lot of small area on my truck that would require the 4in pad, I guess I just have to be careful like you said.

The Pad Man said 4".

So, living on the edge thing ....?~:)

Eric is not keen to chime in obviously, so please let him know it would be a good idea to start making a 4.5" pads in the circumstances.

I've never seen a 4.5" pad, and don't think I'll ever see one. ;)

just received mine looking forward to checking it out if lake country decides to make a 5" bp i will buy one count me in looking forward to the new hybrid pads as well has anyone heard of the eta of these & what sizes will be available thanks

I have the Flex 3401, and have been eyeing this new BP system. I don't mean to thread-jack but I wonder if you all can give me an opinion here:

Scenario: I've been thinking of getting the GG 3" Orbital Polisher Kit, but I'm seeing that I can get the LC Flex system and probably the appropriate number of pads for around the same price.

I'm considering the GG 3" polisher to handle the smaller areas on my vehicles, and because I have a couple tentative motorcycle detailing opportunities coming my way. Would the 4" with the Flex be a reasonable substitute?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I think this is somewhat of a dumb setup. Come on guys. Another 1/4 inch smaller and you would have had a hit with this. I think the attaching Boss or whatever you call the two mating pieces is a great Idea and of a high quality but someone's thinking wasn't up to full power when they decided to make it exactly the same size as a 4" pad. If people do buy this contraption like I did, I'll be betting that we see a bunch of "I scratched my paint with my 4" Flex backing plate" threads.

This is exactly what I've raised in numerous treads I've posted recently, but my question was ignored by the pad man (I believe he is from LC) and Mike Phillips as well.

It appears the new 4" plate should be named - Living on the Edge Plate. I am sure that there will be a numerous treads in the near future with scratched/damaged paint with usage of the new LC 4" plate.

Good luck!
