new logo idea

I think it is a bit hard to read in the vertical format. Is there a reason to be portrait orientation.

it fit in the shield better lol i do my own vinyl work and it seemed easier to do it that way, im open to suggestions

I'd also have to agree with Bunky, it seems harder to read vertically. I also feel like to much is going on in the logo with the subtitles below each letter, But these are my opinions.

I do like the color choice you have chosen.

il piddle around this week on some new ideas, i like the short name KAR but if u just read that it makes you wonder "what do they do?"

It looks more like a badge to me. Like something you would sew on to the shoulder of a jacket. I don't necessarily understand the things involved in the logo...

Obviously IF you read the logo...you can figure out it's for a detailing business. But, at first glance...you certainly don't get that impression. Especially with that shield like object all the lettering is inside of.

I can see the colors working, I do like the little sparkles you added. Although if the sparkles were coming off something like say chrome, or a cars paint...that would be really cool. But with both those things missing, they sort of seem out of place, or to be an after thought.

I also agree that the vertical lettering is tough to swallow. My main issue is you have to really look at the logo to take everything in. I feel a logo should be able to be glanced at, and the viewer should be able to retain the info in seconds. I don't get that with your current logo.

Just my opinion, I'm not trying to bash your logo...just offer some direction. :props:

I agree with you on that. I thought about "what do they do" when I posted and what people would think once you take away the subtitles.

I kinda of thought maybe, have KAR vertical and then move the two words Automotice Reconditioning below the "R" in the same type of font. Then either move Committed to Profection just below it or maybe see if you can integrate it somewhere else on it.

my 2cents.

Be sure to post back your new logos here and I'm sure you will get our input again.

I like the simplicity of the new design. :goodjob2:

The only part I'm struggling with is the phrase, "Automotive Reconditioning". It may suggest more than what you actually want to do. But, you would have to decide that.

when i say automotive reconditioning i mean...automotive reconditioning lol, i can handle light painting if i have to but basicaly if someone wants a Paul Dalton detail, they get it lol for the right price of corse

It is a lot cleaner and easier to read although yellow/red combo may be challenging. The text is quite compact.

Maybe

K A R <= large font
Auto Reconditioning <= less vertically compressed font

You may be able to find a shield that is slightly wider.

I like the new design much better. A step in the right direction for sure. :dblthumb2:

I like the idea of it. Looks cool, but like the others said, the first one has a lot going on and a little hard to read. Second one looks a lot better. I noticed in the second image you made, you took the shiny star patterns out. I would put those back in. Gives it a shiny look, and that's what you want your customers to think of too am I right? Lol

well i had to make the star patterns from scratch on the first one and didnt save them, im just using an old program and i might put them back in for my facebook and online logo. but the stars will be really hard to make out of vinyl since i will cut them out by hand.. and when i get a set design i have 4 cars to make them for. 3 small and 1 huge one for my back window when i get my new(to me) car this week. but i will search arround for some other shield ideas and will post up pics when i make my final alterations.

I chose the red yellow and black because its German colors. I just have a sick obsession with European cars and i have a German heritage so i guess thats where the color choice came from lol

really like the 2nd one, the 1st one was just a bit much to read and grab my attention.

Why not do a variation with your avatar so you can use black lettering?
