Dear Forum Members,

My wife surprised me with a new Makita 5000 today for our 10th anniversary. Last week she saw me reading about it on AG and asked me what it was. I told her but not thinking anything about it other than she took interest in what I was interested in. Then when I got home tonight she presented me with a large box from AG with a huge smile on her face. I opened it in amazement - total amazement! I really was not expecting this especially because we recently bought a house and have bills. I am forever grateful and can't wait to try it out.

I will echo Mike's comment - it feels very substantial in your hands - very much like my G15 does. I have a 911 and and a Corvette coming for a visit this weekend - depending on the condition they are in, I may opt to use it for the heavier end of correction,

Stay tuned!

Sounds like you have quite the wife. Congrats on the anniversary.

AWESOME wife!!!!

Makita took about 3 years to fully develop this polisher. I expect good things out of it. Mine will be delivered today. I'm going to at least give it a test run this weekend.

I have Uro Tecs and may give them a shot - I may also try LC ThinPro's - have a dozen of them and love them.

Thanks Joe! May not use it on the 911 or Vette this weekend as they are not cars to experiment with - and they don't need much correction. So I may not break it out until next weekend but will be sure to post some pics and a video during her maiden run :-).
