Should i try for a showroom shine with a daily driver.

Absolutely! A show-car shine doesn't have to be reserved for show cars. Im the MAN

Hi everyone. My name is Ray Raffa and my company is Brite Lites. I both restore headlights and also manufacture and sell headlight restoration products in the San Francisco Bay area. Have been doing it for about 4 years. Sell to a group of about 20 servies providers, most of which do headlight restoration as an add on. Many do windshield repair, detailing, car washes, autobody shops, etc. Have seen it all. I'm willing to share tips and techniques as long as you're not in the San Francisco bay area and competing with us.

I can't say anything about our products since none of them are sold by AG, but I can help with techniques.

hey folks, my name is alex and i'm a total newb/amateur when it comes to auto maintenance. i'm here to learn from the pros like mike on how to do everything the proper way. i take a lot of pride in my work, so i know i'll make all of you pros proud!

my girlfriend's car was totalled this past winter, so in a pinch she purchased my friend's 2001 four-door black jetta (165K miles, original clutch!). the car runs great, cost next to nothing, but visually... there's room for improvement.

it's got a couple of dings and dents, some rust (not sure if there's much info here at AGO for this type of restorative work), a sagging headliner and tons of little white dog-hairs. the headlights are completely fogged/hazy, and paint is begging for significant treatment (swirls, scratches, RIDS (i imagine), rough to the touch... yechhhh).

what i'm trying to do is use the 'articles by mike phillips' and read the helpful comments by all of the folks here to figure out the products i need to invest in, and develop a plan to fix-up her ride.

cheers!

Hi, im mike and i own a yellow honda EK civic 96 which has been in our family for 16 years and counting. We have a garage but my car sits outside in open parking beside our house. I love my car and i regularly pamper it with the tools i know that would be enough to just clean the car. But after reading some articles from this site i've learned that the defects in my car was caused by the improper tools that i used.

I'm a newbie when it comes to car detailing. It's my first time to purchase and use Meguiars detailing products from autogeek. I'm still on the process of looking for the right tools to remove moderate swirls and some minor scratches. I'm learning a lot from this site.

Currently im looking to get a polisher, im opting to get the Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher (heavy duty) with the ff items on my list

- Lake Country 6.5 FLAT Pads 6 Pack - Your Choice!
- Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate 6"
- Pinnacle XMT Pad Care Combo
- Foam Pad Conditioning Brush
- Detailer's Polishing Pad Rejuvenator
- Meguiars Ultra Cut Compound
- Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer

So far i've purchased the ff items below from autogeek
- Meguiars Soft Buff 8 Inch Pads
- Meguiars Ultimate Compound
- Meguiars Water Magnet
- Meguiars Professional Ultimate Wipe
- Meguiars Ultimate Polish
- Meguiars Ultimate Protectant
- Meguiars Microfiber Wash Mitt

Other items that i bought from a seller.
Meguiars Gold Classbug / Tar Remover
Meguiars X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber
Meguiars Claybar Kit
Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax
Meguirs Ultimate Quick Wax
Meguiars Quick Detailer

I'd like to ask for your suggestions on what other tools/items that i need to get aside from the two bucket wash system.

I'd like to thank mike and all those who shared their knowledge and experience to give us idea on car detailing and car care.

Hi,
My name is Craig and I found AutoGeek as I searched for a good source for random orbital polishers! As much fun as hand cleaning and waxing can be (!), I really want to make it easier.
I own a twelve year old Acura and a thirteen year old Mazda. For me, car ownership is about responsibility and taking care of things entrusted to you. Seems to me that AutoGeek products and the forum should help with that in a big way.
Best to Everybody and I'm glad to be here.

New member here (of course I am...otherwise, why would I post in this thread!???) I live in NC near Raleigh. I joined the group because I was looking for information about restoring headlights that have gone hazy on my wife's Avalon and my Jeep.

Found sooooo much good information here, had to join. Hope I can contribute back in some form or fashion later on.

Be safe and keep your ammunition dry! Im the MAN
