I don't have experience with other brands. This and the old model worked pretty good for me. The new backing plate is made just different enough that the old style backing plate will not work. To bad, I have 2 of those.
Did you use the right spindle to match the weight of your pad? I saw on their YT channel people aren’t following the instructions and using the right one to make the counter weight work with the desired pad and then they notice excessive vibration.I still found the polisher to have a lot of vibration. I wonder if the updated BP fixed this?

I never got back to ask you about the makita, why do you prefer it over flex?Makita PO5000C is the old style, do won't work

I have the newest version of the G15 as well and it too is very smooth when using both Thin Pro and Flat pads from Lake Country. Love the tool. Powerful, great ergonomics, and I can work so much faster than I could with my older short-through DA.
