New/ Please help with current products list

Since everyone says I don't need the Leatherique Pristine Clean or the Rejuvinator oil for brand new leather

They are for sale. they are both the 16oz size

The Pristine Clean is brand new and has never been used. The Rejuvinator Oil is about 4mths old and I've only used about 2 or 3 capfuls of the stuff.

PM me if interested.

Gonna look into the nano skin fine grade clay mitt.

otherwise I will just go with the Meguiars Clay Kit from Wally world.

Looks Like I have a fun weekend in the garage ahead of me. :autowash:

Looks like I may have to go the route of the Meguiars due to $$ at the moment after purchasing a new car , window tint and weathertechs and cleaning supplies so far.

One more Question at the moment.

I plan on using the IronX first , then claying. then can I skip straight to Menzerna Powerlock or do I need to Polish?

IF I can skip Polish step since the car is new I would perfer to. thoughts?

checkout G1 clear vision for a glass sealant. you might like it and it will blow rainX etc out of the water!
I just picked up
CarPro Cquartz fabric and leather for my brand new optima's leather/interior
I watched a few youtube videos on the carpro fabric and leather and i was sold...

and to answer your question about skipping straight to menzerna power lock if you have a pc or flex and pads look into menzerna SF4500 if you are going through all the trouble of prepping your brand new car give it the finest grade polish thats relatively easy to use. and then apply the menzerna power lock! just my .02 but that SF4500 will give you that nice extra little bit of gloss (even with white its going to increase your reflection and gloss) that i think reward your work that much more...

I listed mostly extras, they are the steps im taking but it sounds like you have a very similar mentality.
Good luck enjoy the process... dont beat yourself to death detailing should be a rewarding hobby that is enjoyable time and time again dont break yourself on the first round!

I would buy Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Cleaner with Water Repellent it's on BOGO great deal.

Johny B-I am new to all this, also and have a few questions about cleaning glass. I drove my wife's car tonight and the windows are awful. Seems to have a greasy film on it and all the wipers do is streak in the rain. What do I need to do? Thanks.

glass clay to pull all embedded particles out of glass, polish with 0000 steel wool, apply a quality sealant, get new wiper blades if they are worn out. Or If they are fresher take a cotton rag with a iPa 15% or so and wipe the blades down (y)

If there are no swirls marks that are noticeable to YOU, there's no need to machine polish. Plus, it would be better if you practiced on other paint before you tackle your own.

Wash, dry, iron x, rinse, clay w/ lube, quick wash, completely dry, sealant.

After the sealant cures, hit it with some V7.

Simple, cheap, and effective = glass science glass scrub.

Hey Jrocket,
Since your car is White/off White, you may find that you'll need to clay about once a year, Pinnacle has some nice finer grade clays for the next time you are ready to clay.
It seems like everyone has a favorite glass cleaner and you'll need to experiment. Being Ammonia free is a good start, I've used "Perfect Glass" from the local store and it works for me. Meg's NXT Glass cleaner has some notable fans and I'll try it next.

I think this is the set up I will do.. Only before the V7 I think I'm gonna apply DODO Juice Light Fantastic since I just ordered the small size to test out Thanks!!

SO much great advice. What an awesome forum.:xyxthumbs:

Very cool how much everyone is willing to help out here

Sounds great!

You're officially addicted! Detailing is so much fun!!

Opti-coat for new cladding.

Also, when you clay, you don't have to dry the car after rinsing. Hit the paint with lube and go to town! You're probably going to have to make a run to your local auto parts and buy some more quick detailer(clay lube), as I don't think it's enough that comes with the kit.

Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and bought the Megs Smooth Clay Kit due to being impatient and ready to start getting to work on my car. Next round I will prob buy a different kit to test quality differences. I did notice After IRonX and Claying I didnt have to many contaminets. It def had some but not much so I consider myself pretty lucky for that. I actually enjoyed the claying process too. Cool I picked up some Stoners in a can but think I will prob order a full cleaning/sealing set for the outside windshield.

Yes I am now addicted! I fell in love with the claying process.(theraputic almost as cheesy as that sounds) and absolutely love all the rest that's involved. I'm having a great time.

DId my first layer of Menzerna Sealant yesterday. Doing 2nd coat this morning. Then tomorrow morning I will be Applying DODO Light Fantastic and Then after a few hours a final wipedown with V7. So Stoked!

I will buy some of the Opti-Coat for the cladding! Thanks for the suggestion. I did a light coat of the V7 on it yesterday but I want something that will last a bit longer than it.

I was acutally able to get by with the quick detailer. There's actually a little left in the bottle. I was surprised but I know I used enough as my clay ran smooth the whole time. (didn't stick anywhere)

Now I just have to wash the wheels again today to Menzerna powerlock and V7 them as I forgot to do that yesterday ( was way to in to treating the paint) Ha

Just a heads up on the opticoat it needs to be applied to clear oat with nothing else on top so any other sealants, wax etc will need to be removed before opticoat can be applied. Can't wait to see finished product pictures

Thanks for the heads up on the opticoat:props:

I will be posting pictures up tomorrow after everything is finsihed up.

Im the MAN
Hopefully my pics will show my hard work. It's supposed to be overcast today and tomorrow. I will be taking my pics from my Samsung Galaxy S3 not the best camera but it should do good enough.

All final treatments will be finished in my garage

Quick question to any of those reading

Can I Clean my windshield like this? Meaning would it yield in worthwhile results?

1.Clean outside windshield with Stoners Invisible / aerosol

2.Layer of Menzerna powerlock / buffed out

3.Clean again with Stoners Invisible

Would I get any better results out of this over just cleaning w/ stoners?

Stoners is currently the only glass product I have and can afford at the moment.

* I do have microfibers and 1 glass microfiber towel that I will be using specifically for this

Thanks in advance

I would stop at step 2 - Stoners probably contains some IPA (like most glass cleaners), which would degrade the layer of MPL you just applied. You can use a qd to clean your glass afterwards, so you don't negatively impact the sealant on it.

I have the meguiars quick detailer that came with a claybar kit I bought and I have Chemical guys hybrid V7

would one be better than the other?

I haven't used either one, so I can't speak from experience; of those two though, I'd probably go with the Megs - I prefer to use a qd that leaves the least "stuff" (polymers, gloss enhancers, etc) behind, to reduce any chance of streaking.

Strictly cost-wise, I wouldn't use the v7 as a clay lub. I would use it as a regular qd and Meg's for clay lube.

....and stretch it even further by mixing in water too, 50/50.
