New Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner

From what I understand the LGM didn't really get the water very hot, and reports seem to speculate that portion is one of the first to go on the LGM. My tap water here is crazy hot so I don't think I'd have to worry about a heater.

Looks pretty dope... But I don't see anything about it heating water

It seems that since laundry soap works in cold water as well as warm/hot water, that extracting is following the same. It could be as simple economics to not include a heating system. I'd expect a heated system to cost another $100 or even more. Would I pay the difference? Sure.

I thought this was an interesting option to heat a 5 gallon bucket of water to 180 degrees and pour it into the carpet cleaner.

They suggest..."Fill you carpet cleaning machine with this heated water but please test the temperature to make sure that the water is not hotter than 140 degree F."

I have read that the Bissell units will heat the water by 25 degrees. I wonder if this is assuming 120 degree water from the tap. So, around 145 degrees?

Someone stick a thermometer in their Little Green Machine.

For reference; the Mytee Lite II is 210 degrees

So basically you are paying 160 bucks for a machine to shoot water for you? This thing doesn't heat up. Might as well use a wet vac and spray water with a spray bottle.

"Hi Kyle,

We're glad you contacted us.

Yes, the heater on your Little Green will heat the water 25 degrees hotter; up to 170 degrees. So you could us tap water that is up to 145 degrees."

Mine is arriving on Friday. Any pics or info anyone would like to know?

cool start a thread and link it here. If you have time take as many pics as you can of how you feel it operates. Do you have any experience with the LGM or something you can compare it to?

How does it feel? some people say the LGM feels very cheaply made.

I got my lgm on black friday, Ill probably give it a try this weekend.

I'm waiting for it to go local so I can check it out in person. Or, I'm waiting for someone to come on here and say it's the best thing since Tasty Kakes. Costco now has the regular Rug Dr - so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for this Rug Dr Mini.

Sorry... I've had a really crazy month at work. I will definitely try to write something up soon. It is nice and shiny though. LOL

I decided not to buy it. Instead I bought a Bissell carpet cleaner and used it to clean the carpets in my house.

Since I only detail my own cars, the hand held part of the Bissell works great. This unit really works well for your home carpets and the hand held wand works great for upholstery as well.

I used a stand up bissel for the longest time. It never disappointed me, and served dual purpose, (cars and house). The hose was long enough to usually reach anywhere I needed, without having to hold the machine, like the lgm.

For some reason I just don't have faith that these small spot cleaners will clean at appropriate temperatures or thoroughly rinse out the cleaner from the carpet. But to each their own I suppose.
