*NEW* Speedy Surface Prep Towel

This sounds like a great product for guys detailing for a living. For me, sounds too aggressive. Clay is cheap enough and doesn't have to be done frequently.

I have used mine several times with no issues of marring on MY vehicle. The difference for me over clay is the ease on the hands for use on a large SUV (Ford Expedition EL). I do not detail for a living like Corey and others, but I can easily justify the cost for myself as it does cut the time by over half and I don't worry if it drops (rinse and use). For lube I have used the Shock (included in my early sample towel) but prefer ONR due to having a gallon of it. If you are on the fence, find someone local who has one and give it a try yourself. Dave at Innovative sold me my towel and I am glad I got it.

Lots of great information here, thanks for sharing. :dblthumb2:

I just received one of the fine grade speedy preps today, I haven't had a lot of time to use it but I will say it is way faster than clay?
I have some tree sap I have been fighting on my wife's Black Audi, so I grab the DP clay lube it came with and give my windshield on my truck a cleaning, then her car windshield, then move to her hood with the sap, quick and easy with very little pressure and it's gone, claying was not near as easy and a lot slower, I was really struggling with clay to remove this sap but the sp took it right off. No maring from the well lubed speedy prep in sun light. I will do a bigger area and take a closer look in the near future.
It's early but this is a time saver, More testing is needed but it seems to be a great addition!:props:

I probably don't need this, but I'll end up getting one for my spring clean up next year.

Unless I'm working on a vehicle that's in extremely good shape, I haven't used a clay bar since we started carrying the Speedy Surface Prep Towel. :dblthumb2:

Arguably the towel has a much bigger surface area, and can be flipped to 4 sides, so you get a lot more throughput (faster and much more car surface covered before you have to rinse the towel vs. the block).

Morning Setec! More than just having 4 sides (I have the more agressive version), I like the feel as it conforms to the curves much better than any clay block (reduced fatigue and strain on my hands) so IMHO it is worth the $$. Then again I only do my own vehicles which have fairly hard CC so I don't get marring from usage.

Another way to look at it: yes the clay block does a nice job and is reusable but does notfit your hand naturally (at least not my big hands) so I would spend more time with a clay block substitute or clay (still necessary for small areas) on my large SUV which are all large flat areas.

I'm excited!!!! I'll be using mine for the first time this weekend.

While i did not get the towel, i decided to get the fine grade pad instead. Will be testing it out this weekend.

Used it first time today, 1 word, AMAZING...

The only thing I don't know is how to store it after using ?
Lets say it's wet... ? I just finished my car? What do I do put in the box? hang?

i let mine hang to dry. I used the fine grade version on my black car and didn't notice any marring at all. I love how quickly you can clay the vehicle with this. I believe I have found a substitute for the clay :)

I love these pads.only downfall, for me is they dont last near 100 cars lol maybe 10 for me. Otherwise they are great i havent used a clay bar for a long time!!!

This thread addresses the Speedy Prep Towel. I think you are talking about the pads. The towels do last for a very long time when used correctly. My towels are over two years old and going strong. I can't speak to the life of the pads since I have tried them in a demo only.
