I just picked up some used 2015 Audi S4 wheels that I will be cleaning and waxing. These will only be used for half of the year. My question is what is the most cost effective way to protect my wheels. I thought about a coating, but will be removing the wheels in late fall so they will not see any salt.

I have on hand
WDGPS 3.0
HD speed
Meguiars Gold Class (the tin is 5 years old as I almost never use this)

My goal is to allow brake dust to simply rinse off. I usually add some sort of spray wax when wiping down after a wash.

I'm not opposed to buying a dedicated wheel product either.

If you want break bust to easily come up I would highly recommend getting a dedicated wheel coating

I just got done coating my whole car with WG Uber coating including my new wheels for summer. When doing my wheels I know that I got the barrels and face of the spokes fine but unsure of the inner face of the spokes and inner rim (the place where brake dust likes to accumulate). So what I have decided on any future wheels I plan on using CarPro Hydro2 which to me seems like an ideal product for getting in all the tight spots on wheels. And plan on doing my already coated wheels on my next wash. Here is the only picture I have that shows the hard to do areas of my rims.

I also believe that a well maintained wheel with a regular application of a decent sealant will work just fine and the wheels should clean up with just plain car wash soap. On my other car I used jetseal once a month and that worked just fine it was just harder to get to the tough areas. I will use the Hydro2 on them as well from now on.
