New trucks

I guess I'm in the minority here. I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra SR5 Double Cab 4x4 with the 5.7L engine. I love this truck! Great for towing, fantastic ride.

If I were you I would get a Regular Cab Sierra or Silverado.

An extended cab Tacoma 4x4 is stickered at 30k.

True, but it also has the best resale value.


If I were to go full size it would definitely be GM, though the newer Ford's have really been growing on me. I like the ride a lot better of the GM's though.


My biggest problem with getting a full size (a side from being massive) is that getting it with everything I'd want puts me into the 40k+ range.



I think I may just end up buying an older high milage truck as I'll likely only use it for hauling, snow days and for the occasional trip up north camping/fishing. That way I can still have a fun car to drive.

Not so anymore. I was just at a Chevy dealer with a friend buying a 2011 Duramax and they had a few Toyota's. I ask how they were selling since the dependability issues, he said they still sell well but they are now about 15% less in value and now have a fairly fast depreciation compared to before. I'm sure this will recover but for now, not so much.:dunno:

Interesting...makes sense though I guess...did they say if it was all Toyota's? I could see the Tundra and a few other models but the Tacoma has always been great at resale value and is the clear leader in the mid size truck market.

I have an 06 GMC Sierra 2WD (have no real use for 4WD). I don't like trucks, but remodeling our house made it a necessity (plus I hate SUVs even more). I'd rather have a wagon, but a good one is hard to come by now a days.

Been a decent truck, just hit about 65K, the steering column is rattling (known issue will fix eventually) and I'm replacing the wheel speed sensors, another common issue, (got them for $150 sensors and new hubs). Other than that, defect free. Put my 450lb motorcycle in the bed and drove for 4000 miles no problem. Tows my trailer no problem. Gets 14.7mpg in town, little over 20mpg on the highway.

I may end up getting a stripped down Regular Cab Duramax Diesel for under 40k.

That truck would be fun as hell.

Nice truck.

Not a fan of crew cabs though. Takes away bed space.

But you really do have a nice truck though.

I may end up getting a stripped down Regular Cab Duramax Diesel for under 40k.

That truck would be fun as hell.

He paid just north of 48k for a 3/4 ton LTZ Crewcab 4x4 moderately equipped. Sticker was right at 56k before a 2k rebate.

Well with a 10 month old and a 115lb black lab I need all the cab space I can get along with a bed. A std 6ft bed would be nice but the 5ft 8" bed (shorter bed) isnt all that bad and does fine 80% of the time.

Plus in the summer with a few performance goodies it could be a serious hotrod truck Im the MAN
