NEW UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER - UDOS = User Defined Orbital Stroke by Lake Country

NEW UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER - UDOS = User Defined Orbital Stroke by Lake Country

The white donut looking thing at the bottom reminds me the Lake Country 1-Pad System. And seeing the other pics with the MF pads, makes me wonder if they will be making an updated version of that system.

I don't know if any of you picked up that the video starts by saying "Introducing the first in a new line of LC power tools..."

So sounds like there is going to be more to come, whether that's more polishers or something else, who knows.

It's also mentioned on their website. I'm quite sure more tools will come. Exciting stuff.

I hope they come out with a more affordable alternative to the ibird, I've been waiting for Griot's to drop one but Id like to for sure see more competitors in that tool line.

I've been looking at how I can convert my electric tooth brush to be a mini/micro polisher

I agree.

I shared all this info in the FB world and was surprised some people could only complain.

Looks pretty cool. Some real innovation and not another copy of what's already out there. The only potential pitfalls I see are moving units if the price is $600+ & the durability of the machine.

Ha! I was talking to Ange about this this morning. I haven't seen a credible argument about it yet though. The ergonomics are in question a fair bit but I fail to see an issue at all, in fact the grip on the machine looks to be right on point. I'm a little guilty of purchasing polishers that are new purely just 'coz' but this one, this one I believe will be a team member through & through.

Also the question on build quality has come up - Lake Country Manufacturing are a credible brand & I just don't see them putting their name to something they won't stand behind. Reality is, things can break, RUPES break, Flex Tools break, heck we break but its how the manufacturers handle that that is key.

The motor body area does look thicker. Maybe the 4" or 3.5" forced DA people have been asking for.

I like that look, on what could be the working prototype. Like, Robocop futuristic polisher. Something like that.

I agree.

What’s to complain about? If you don’t like it, simply don’t buy it. :dunno:

Personally I think it is really cool and innovative!

At first I was on the fence regarding the looks but the more I look at it the more I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The polisher definitely has part Robocop part Star Wars Storm Trooper look to it which to me personally is appealing. I’m glad its being offered in 240V, am getting it as soon as its available to purchase. I just hope it plays well with all types of pads and not just UDOS specefic ones.

I think it's pretty innovative,,I remember not all that long ago folks saying that orbitals will never catch on for compounding and actual work,,they are only good for light polishing and waxing,,look where we are now.

the high price is the only drawback for me and my limited budget for tool purchase,,maybe if it were in 450 -500 range range I could push it a bit.

Same here, but I'm sure for some pros it will be exactly the tool they need. I'm just not the target market. I like LC and hope they sell a ton of these simply to ensure they stay a vital player in the detailing market place.

With this announcement, I can hope for two things:

1. This truly will be the start of a line of tools and they will sell/market another polisher to compete with the GG6 for use by DIYers like myself. Not that I discount the GG6, but competition and choice in the market is a good thing for consumers.
2. Any lower market tools will include the trigger on the handle. I know this is common on the pro-grade polishers, but I wish the feature would work it's way to the smaller/less expensive polishers.
