What about the fact that the dealer supposedly already put some sort of coating or sealant on it?
First thing to remember about $tealerships...They do not do anything for free!
If they did anything that was of value, they would try to make money from it.

I always instruct my clients "Do NOT let the $tealership wash your new vehicle".
Do a nice polish to eliminate DISO then apply a thick heavy duty coating like OPC.
Apply as many coats to the roof as the product allows. 2, 3, 4...Some even more...
For the sides of the van do what makes you happy. (wax, sealant, coating) etc.
For the roof...I like to follow the words of Ron Popeil..."Set it and Forget it"!
