Concatenation (kon-kat-n-ey-shuh n)

Definition: connection, sequence

Source: Thesaurus.com

There is a proper concatenation that will allow for a efficacious flow of work when it comes to the detailing process. Mix the order up and you might find yourself back-tracking, double-backing, or just working harder and not smarter in the general sense.

Excellent "word of the day"...I like your example of: 'using it in a sentence'!

My attempt at doing likewise:

"There has been much debate over the concatenation of "differing types" of LSP's, and their being applied to the top-coat paint film of vehicles, especially if "layering" (also a much debated topic!) of those differing LSP's are so desired; such as:

a.) Waxes (acting as the: 'base layer' LSP)... applied before....sealants (with those sealants, in essence, becoming the: 'topping/layering' LSP's);

Or...

b.) Antithetical to: a.) ".

Up and about early, aren't we!

By following the axiom:

"Promise only what you can Deliver; then, Deliver more than you Promise"...

...I've found, is one tried-and true method to deter customers from attempting to besmirch ones Professional reputation.

Have a good Sunday.

^^ I am a morning person by nature, unfortunately work dictates when I can and cannot live my normal sleep schedule. One month I work days, the other I work nights and generally when I work nights my sleep schedule is somewhat polyphasic as it is very difficult for me to sleep when its daylight out.

When I am working days, I take advantage of being able to be my normal self! =)

Thank you for the contribution!

Provincial (pruh-vin-shuh l)

Definition: countrified; limited

Source: Thesaurus.com

Detailers who do not take the time to train and learn the proper techniques might be construed to have a provincial knowledge and ability. This is comparing to those who read how-to's on educational forums like this, attend workshops and classes, and try and experiment techniques until they have perfected the art of detailing.

heard a good one over the weekend during an episode of True Blood of all things. I like how it just rolls off the tongue...

Vicissitude (viss-sis-itude)

Definition: the quality or state of being changeable; natural change or mutation visible in nature or in human affairs; difficulty or hardship attendant on a way of life, a career, or a course of action and usually beyond one's control

"The emerging global world economy lacks the corresponding social structures that cushion economic vicissitudes within domestic society."

Excellent detailing-usage of your "new word of the day"!
I'd like to go down a different path, though.

"Naturally....There are dialects in the USA that are indigenous to localized regions that are not always understood by people unfamiliar with the history of the people from those regions.

I clearly remember the first time I was name-called a "Farmer" and "Briar". Being at a fairly young age, I didn't comprehend the reasoning behind this; but, due to the tone of the voice of this self-appointed 'Neighborhood Bully', I proceeded to beat the living daylights out of him.

That evening, upon returning home from his daily grind at the factory, my Father, (who, unbeknownst to me, evidently had been subjected to similar, or more severely stated, name-calling at his workplace), was informed by my Mother of my "fighting with one of the boys next door". I told him why. He then explained to me that many people in this World had a narrow view of people whose manner of speaking didn't conform to what their ears heard, but their mind, heart, and soul wasn't able to 'listen to'...That folks with a Southern Drawl were often depicted as being uneducated, among other, what they considered were: 'undesirable traits'. He also reminded me to never forget where you come from.
(Nonetheless, I will add, He gave me a pretty good whooping that evening for picking on somebody: "not my own size")

As I grew older, I began to better understand this phenomenon....although I still cringe at times, upon hearing, or reading, of people's provincial ways of attempting to pigeon-hole another person, and make derogatory statements.

Nowadays, when confronted by a person, or persons, that haven't a clue of my persona; and, they feel compelled to 'name-call' me; instead of throwing a 'conniption fit' and go 'a-hootin' and a-hollerin' all over the place...

I just scratch my farhead and chuckle to myself that they must believe: "their "sh!t don't stink".
(But...If by doing so: Wouldn't, I too, be considered intolerant, also?)

Still be nice to cram 'em down a 'chimbley' somewhere... Shonuff!!!. But that wouldn't be fair to Sanny Claus come next Christmas.

I'm off to fix me some dippy-eggs now. I just hope I got some orange juice in the Frigidaire".

Seems apropos...In the words of Barbara Mandrell: "I was Country, before Country was "Cool".

:)

FUNX725, I loved your story. I too have had issues of such because of my heritage. I am half-Italian and half-Polish, people from time to time regard me as less-educated. I am also a very nice guy (or like to think I am) so again my kindness is construed as a weakness and people try to take advantage of me. I used to let it bother me, not going to lie, from time to time it still gets the best of me. I do listen to my father a lot and he puts me at ease because anything I go through he has endured for longer and probably worse since he is actually from a different country so he has an accent.

I take your comment to heart because I know the feeling to a certain degree. It is not pleasant and its not an easy feeling to brush off, especially when not let-off or when it gets excessive.

As always, thank you for the contribution!

New Word of the Day:

Felicitous (fi-lis-i-tuh s)

Definition: appropriate, suitable

I hope that all my sentences and examples of using these "word of the day's" are felicitous and constructed, using correct grammar.

A detailer too needs to worry about the felicitous products he uses, always remembering the least abrasive method first, using wheel cleaner for wheels, leather cleaner for leather, window cleaner for windows, etc.

I haven't seen that word in awhile...Thanks!

"There were "Dress Codes" when I attended secondary-education schools. I couldn't help but notice that some High School lasses were sent home for wearing the: Latest-and-Greatest-up-to-date "Mini-Skirt Styles"...REASON: The school's administrators were fond of citing that this type of wardrobe, as such worn, was not felicitous".

"I, on the other hand, felt that this fashion trend was conducive, and more than welcome, in my continuous research for: "Higher" education".

Felicitous (fi-lis-i-tuh s)

.

Great word...another way to use it in a sentance is:

All of Bacon's posts and threads are felicitous!

;)

I know I've dropped out of posting to this thread, but I visit it every day and am appreciative of the postings!:props:

BOOO0. HISSS. BOOO.!!!

Throw da bum out outta here!

J/K

:D

Bob

LOL...are you using Uncle Sam to do your bidding?

OK, hows this...I'll do a semi-retraction of the sentence and replace it with this:

Some of Bacon's threads, posts, words of wisdom and analysis are contumelious.

Just doing my Patriotic Duty. :D

Great word! Indeed!!

My only retort to your: "using contumelious in a sentence" will be:

"And yet....You remain affable...An approachable, courteous gentleman".

:)

Bob

FUNX725, I am glad to have brought that word back for you!

Bacon, thank you for the addition

Ted... knowing that you are reading this every day is giving me inspiration to keep this going as I am hoping others enjoy this as much as I do. I am learning and trying to absorb what I can. At least I have a good spot to reference if I forget one of the previous words! =)

Bacon, I will do my best to infuse one of the "Words of the Day" into a limerick in one of the next 2 days I have off so I can try to think of something. Unfortunately the days that I have to work, time is of the essence and I have trouble finding the correct word itself. I will try though, I promise!

Bleb (bleb)

Definition: a bubble, A blister or vesicle

Source: Thesaurus.com

The more a car shampoo that creates thick, high quantities of blebs is thought to be a high quality product. However, is this a facade, and in reality the slippery lubricating sensation is created by something else? Maybe the formation of the large masses of blebs is a marketing gimmick to get us to buy and be swayed to certain products? I would hate to burst anyones bleb, if this in fact is true!
