New Word of the Day

Long time Pink Floyd fan here.:xyxthumbs:

Seems that Flash decamped AGO, setting up shop at L2D; or so it has been reported.

One of the nicest persons I've known over the years, was a workplace-friend of mine named M(xxx) DeCamp. He was also quite a skilled machinist.

A "new word of the day" of mine for 05#03#2012:

Philoxenist

Definition: One who is hospitable to strangers.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

-An AGO forum member recently started a thread that had as its subject matter, in so many words:
"The Need of Facilities for Mobile Detailers".

-Although there were many responses/replies that were evidence of other AGO members being:
Astute, sagacious, perspicacious, shrewd, ingenious, and even of possessing keen discernment; there were those, as well, that were presented in what could be termed:
Humorous, campy, amusing, boffo, even bordering on the absurd or buffoonery.

-However, the response/reply posted by Mr. Mike Phillips, and echoed by several others, was the one that would seem to be of most benefice to the OP.

-So, in order for me to: "Reader's Digest-condense"...this insight, perception, acumen; and, the adroitness in bringing balance and prudence to this subject matter:
I'll say that the concept of having first-time Customers that are philoxenists would be ideal.

-Hopefully, these first-time Customers will become repeat Clients...Where, then, the lilting words associated with the theme-song of the old TV show: "CHEERS" would, forever, be the refrain.

:)

Soporific (sop-uh-rif-ik)

1. causing or tending to cause sleep.
2. pertaining to or characterized by sleep or sleepiness; sleepy; drowsy

Source: dictionary.com

Working long hours in the hot sun had a soporific effect on the detailer. Funny, he should try doing what I do. I think he will change his tune a little!

sorry I am going to hold off on the events for today. I will jump back on for tomorrow.

Hieroglyphics

Definition: A pictorial writing style invented by the ancient Egyptians around 3200 B.C., representing consonants only. Egyptian hieroglyphs remained as recognizable pictures throughout the 3500-year history of the script; and, were never applied to any language other than Egyptian itself.

-DISCLAIMER: The following is only an interpretation of an observation of mine. As such, there is no intent on my part to be offensive; nor should it be discerned as an act of denigration. Thanks for your understanding.

Ergo:

-Seemingly...There has often been the occasions where someone will bring to the attention of those that follow the AGO forum (Members; and, Vendors as well), of descriptions/instructions pertaining to Detailing Products, that are often confusing (some product-lines moreso than others); or, lacking thereof, more germane information. Some will say it's: "Greek to Me"!...Or even that it's: "Alien"!!

-Perhaps this is an example of being thusly confused??

Excellent "new word of the day" Tundra_10...Fits me to a tee! :D

My Wife thinks I'm recalcitrant when I tell her I must refuse to honor her request to: "Go to bed now"! She is absolutely: 100% correct in that judgement of my persona.
Afterall...She really doesn't comprehend that, beginning at 12:30 am, the old TV series...'The Untouchables'...airs, once again, Monday through Friday, on the:
ME TV channel!!

(BTW: One of my favorite TV shows of all time, no less.)
