Had the pleasure of getting this very nice 86 SVO Mustang up to the next level with some correction work and a one year coating. Yes this is a real deal 86 with the rare factory option wing delete that the SVO are known for. I'm sure the purists are turning in there grave with the small block in the engine bay instead of the factory 2.4 turbo 4 cylinder.

This client is someone whom I've known for the better part of 10+ years and he has always owned clean Mustangs. This car got dropped off already cleaned to the point of not even needing much prep except for a light wipe down. The car has a very nice single stage black paint job that looks a mile deep now that its corrected.

Prep- light wipe down with Mckees waterless wash on the go

correction- Rupes Duetto/Adams swirl killer mini, Boss microfiber cutting pads, Rupes yellow/Rupes white pads

Products- Boss fast correcting cream, hyper polish, Menzerna SF3800

LSP- IGL Poly 1 year coating

Wheels- Wiped down with IGL Enhancer

I didn't get any before pics as I was having some technical issues with my phone lol.

Very Nice!
The quarter panel shot shows what black should look like.

That black paint looks beutieful! Great work and write up. Think the purist is forgiving in this case since the smallblock installation is nice and clean :)

Another great job! I've noticed you sure love hyper polish for finishing.

Wow is that beautiful! Great work. Why does single stage black always seem to look better than bc/cc black?

You always detail the coolest cars.

Thanks. I feel that a proper well executed single stage just has a bit deeper look to it. I had a client years ago with a unreal 69z28 with a high dollar black single stage lacquer paint job that just looked like black ink when it was properly polished out.

Thanks. Being in the car scene here I have a lot of contacts and they in turn have friends with cool stuff so it just naturally snow balls. I have been lucky so far to work on some neat stuff over the years.

Looks awesome! So they replaced the stock 2.3 turbo with a small block V8? It was kind of funny, the 2.3 Turbo put out more HP than the 5.0 did that year. :)
Nice work Justin!

Thanks bud. Yeah I can see the turbo 2.3 having a bit more power than a smogged out 5.0 lol

Nice work.

That sure doesnt look like a turbo charged 4 cyl! ;) There should be a rule that any Mustang SVO can only have its engine swapped with the new Ecoboost!

I love this idea and agree!!

Thanks brother. Your posts keep me motivated! I`m slammed with work for the next 2.5 months. Have a brand spanking new M2 straight off the tailer with plastics on it that`s getting a ton of protection work that I`m in the middle of doing. A 72 Nova and a brand new raptor all this week. Very blessed.

Need to start saving for my toy I want lol.

Very nice! I used almost the same combo as you on a 67 Porsche a couple of weeks ago. FCC on BOSS MF and polished with Hyper Polish with Rupes white Mille. Came out fantastic. I agree with you about HP finishing great on everything.

Thanks. Yeah it just simply works and works very easy. No issues after proper prep wiping before coating.
