Not much talk here about Zaino...what's up?

What do you mean that Zaino talked about much? There's a thread almost every day about Duragloss ;)

It's talked about here just under name of duragloss

Just what are you trying to insinuate? That Z6 smells the same, looks the same, performs the same as Duragloss #921 FC&S, but costs twice as much? Blasphemy!

zanio seems to be a corvette thing ..<snip>...

Used to be the same for Ford Lightning owners as well. To put anything else on a Lightning was considered abuse

If you are interested in Zaino discussion just search "Duragloss" ;)

I just read this the other day ( I know late to the game ). I just did the free ship order today, so it will need to go on the list for the next order. Think it was #111 that was referenced (? ) Time to search the forums !!

I've always used Zaino and had great results with it. Applies easily and buffs off just as easily.

That said, it's nice to have other tools in the box, and be able to step away from brand loyalty and use what works on the paint surface you've got.

I agree. Change the name from Z to Duragloss and you have the same product.

I was having a discussion with a corvette owner, he was amazed at the Duragloss shine and final product. on my vehicle. Asked what I was using, since he also was using Zaino because that was what they were told to use. When I told him it was Duragloss he did not believe it. Saw him recently applying Duragloss on his Vette.

kinda confused

I've noticed that happens a lot to "Z's" zealots! LOL...J/K...It's your business to go by the adage: "Find something you like and use it often" (M.P.)...Or not, IMHO.

zanio seems to be a corvette thing .
I must be the exception...Never, ever used any "Z" products on any of our Corvettes.

but sal will not ship to nj.

Sal's a very shrewd business man...He must of had his reasons for not doing so.

From a few of my observations:

"Z" adherents (and their seemingly unprecedented 'layering techniques') reminds me of the refrain from a song awhile back: "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron" ~The Royal Guardsmen

{Note: Just substitute "Z" zealots for: "The Bloody Red Baron" wording}

"Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score"

:D

And it beads like no other--I've never been able to get that Zaino beading from DG for some reason.

I don't know about that--some products seem to be identical, like the QD and leather stuff, but others just seem to be relatives. There are just too many coinicidences, though, even the MF's are similar.

I've had some insane durability with it, too. I'm talking years. This was on garage/weekend cars, so I know that helped, but I was still amazed. :dblthumb2:

When I used Zaino in 2002 it was the hot product out there. I still have half a bottle of everything I got from them.

And I must say, it's the best smelling stuff I have ever used. Even better than Fuzion.

I quit using it because it was designed to fill and hide swirls, not correct them. I moved into Meguiar's products and then found 'The Geek" in 2007
Now I am constantly switching products as a new "Soup of the Day" come out.:buffing:
And slowly going broke.

That may have been what Sal said, but if you've used the products you know they do no such thing. And of course Sal ultimately came out with a light polish and an AIO to address the "correction" shortcomings of the line. I guess it's working out pretty well for him because the latest entry in the "what's new" portion of his site is over 5 years old.

Ha ha...I only buy the very unusual soup now, things like DA MF systems and coatings...because I have enough soup from the old days to stock a bomb shelter.

First things first, how is the C4 the "red headed stepchild" of the Corvette family when you've got the 74-82's out there, I'll take just about any C4 over any of those for sure, think about it, the C4 GS for instance:xyxthumbs:

Now, this talk of Z "hiding swirls", well, I just don't see how that's possible! My paint shimmers and the credit goes to Z, well, I've got 2 coats of Klasse SG in there too, just yesterday added a coat of it, looks awesome, the metallic in the paint just appears to be floating in there:dblthumb2:

I'm guilty of the layering thing with it too, can't help myself because its soooooo easy, so why not do itIm the MAN

Very guilty for sure! You have so many layers your waxing your wax now! :buffing: Haaaa! You'll never get true durability results since you have, what, almost 30 layers now! It's been awesome weather wise for some great detailing though!

Stuff not sold by AG shouldn't be discussed on AG. It's mutual respect for their rules. I know you didn't know this, I'm just stating that's why it isn't talked about.

This is a questionable rule/guideline. For example, Chemical Guys' products were talked about quite a bit waaaay before AG started carrying their lines.

Another thought....perhaps beginning to talk about and show interest in brands and products not carried by AG may raise interest to the tipping point where our favorite online store - AGO - eventually does carry them.

Finally, is it really abiding by the rules when we talk about a brand by referenceing it's owner, rather than the brand name itself? A fine example, which can be found here if searched, is "Mr. Pitale".

Ok....shoot me now.

The leather in all my cars are kept in good condition using Zs leather in a bottle. And I love the aroma! It fills the car with the smell of new leather.

People have said you won't be able to tell the difference to this stuff: Duragloss Leather Conditioner (LC) #221 but there isn't really much price difference, just usually a lot more convenient to get DG stuff.

That actually can support the filling theory. By filling the defects, you get better shine or shimmer. It reduces the reflection of light off the swirls and hides them.

its cheating and in other words "hack".

Regardless of whether filling works or whether it's a hack job, the bottom line is no one who's ever used Z5 would say it fills anything.

Agreed.

I have never seen any filling with any Zaino product I've used. I explicitly remember them stating it did not fill/remove swirls, which is the reason I started looking to other products.
