Bring on the Lambo! It was a tragic day when we were asked to pick up this beautiful car... I know who wants to drive a new lambo... Not me! But since I pulled the short straw at the shop I agreed.... I always the short end of the stick.... UGH! The horror! Why! Theatrics good? Can you feel my pain through the typing? I was really sad .

After getting it back to the shop in one piece I got out of the car and counted my blessing because non of the 4 Honda Civics or 2 Jetta's trying to race me didn't run me off the road staring why revving at freeway speeds... I thought I heard a weed whacker but was focused on driving.

It only had 500 miles so it wasn't very dirty, quick ONR wash and clay. This is what I saw. Buffer swirls! Everywhere! On the bright side someone had already compounded for me!

After my first pass with Car Pro reflect and an a soft pad it really didn't so a lot to this diamond hard lambo paint. Ohhh wait I'm not suppose to be telling you how I figured this out am I?

Grabbing a Car Pro flash pad and Black Fire SRC Finishing polish with a Rupes21 and wiping residue away with a crazy pile using speed 3 with light to moderate pressure..
TA DA! Thats what I was looking for!

Just to be sure I wiped my test down with Car Pro Eraser twice and once with IPA. So 3 wipe downs and it still looked like this! Boom I had found my path to glory!

Fast forward from Saturday when I started to end of day on Monday, and some random spot compounding, topped with some Cquartz Finests and......

Look at those wheels! Gloss black, polished by hand, and coated with Cquartz DLux. Calipers got same treatment!
DSC_0127_zpsnmytrnk9.jpg

Car Pro Perl tire dressing giving just enough to the tires to add to the finished result not take away!

Lights are sick!
DSC_0131_zpsafqtlqdb.jpg

Dripping wet like it should be!
DSC_0132_zpszwgparyn.jpg

Wheels will be much easier to maintain now!
DSC_0135_zps50ynhhti.jpg

Interior was treated with Opti Guard Leather, and carpets were coated with Car Pro fabric!
DSC_0136_zpswnps3ucc.jpg

No slimy greasy look from Opti Guard! Just Matte and clean and it'll stay that way for years!

Great work Joe! I've been told by a fellow member that he has been using Flash pads w/Reflect as a great 1 stepper on harder paints. Looks like you had similar results.

I just started a facebook page to raise money for you, I am sure you are suffering from severe trauma from driving that ugly thing. WOW, what a great job and such a beautiful car. Great job. Thanks for the write-up.

Nice work. I find that detailing brand new cars is sometimes more difficult than working on something that has been driven daily for years. It's just harder to see the real payoff of your labors. At least someone was nice enough to burn the paint for you so you had something to work with. :) I'll bet the owner was happy not to have to see those anymore. It is sad that no matter the dealership it still seems like none of them have 'detailers' who can do the job right on new car prep.

I really dig the rear end of that car. That car has all the right angles and just looks perfect. Whoever designed it did the job right!

Thanks guys!

Yeah customer was super happy! Can I buy your Domain ?!?! Kidding! kinda, Like the name!

I am interested in the paint of this car, who manufactures it for Lamborhini? It's a nano paint or scratch resistant? I see only metallic & clear coat but the quality of paint...who knows.
In my opinion paint on Mercedes, Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Bentley is much better quality.
Here paint looks to the eyes very thin, not the best quality I would say.
I know it's sounds funny to question Lamborghini coating job, but still if you know anything about it. To me it shines not enough and the reason is not your work or products which must be the best...would like to know more about this.

It doesn't shine enough? Are you looking at the same gray car that I am?

Beautiful work!

Thanks guys!

:) It is a name that has gotten me more than one customer based only on the OCD reference. ;) I've had it for nearly 12 years now, so I'm kind of attached. However, I do have the .info domain as well that I'm not using right now... I don't think anybody has the .org domain either.

Wow! Amazing job! My jaw just fell off!
Interesting choice of products you made, out of mainstream, I suppose that when you detail a brand new lambo you come to manhood of the detailer's world. Man, I'm just a kid yet. Best regards and thanks for sharing!

That's one helluva aggressive pad to remove holograms. Paint must have been hard. Looks fantastic as always, Joe. :props:

Torbati, stick to doing Hondas! You obviously have no idea what you are doing. Seriously thought I've seen the car on FB, IG and forum and can't stop staring. Well done my Finest brother!

The new Huracan is just pure awesome. Beautiful work. As I was ready into it, I thought you had crashed the car or something. lol.

What's the name of that color if you don't mind me asking?

I have 3 customers already wanting to get the new Huracan and I haven't seen that color yet.

The car is probably painted in Italy, but Lamborghini is owned by VW and part of the Audi division. Most of the cars I detail are either German or Japanese and I can tell you that the Audi's have some of the harder paints. It is possible that they are getting the paint similar to that. I've never detailed a Lamborghini or gotten close enough to one to see the paint quality, but I have no doubt it is better than the paint on American cars or even some of the Germans. The painting standards are different depending on where the car is actually painted. The Ferraris I've done have had really great paint on them, so Italy clearly knows how to do it right.
