Wow Chris!!! The paint looks like a swimming pool, I can dive in it right now! I can't believe D156 gives the paint that much shine. I like using D156 after every wash. I think it's the best spray wax out there.

OK guys enlighten me and tell me if i should get any more product to use with my pc 7424xp i have 2 of all the cutting polishing and finishing pads megs soft buff 2.0 pads. As for product i have Scratch x 2.0, ultimate compound and polish,Cleaner wax and Gold glass wax should i get anything else or is that good? I've been thinking about getting swirl x to add. And is the white pad that comes with the polisher a good pad to use with a micro fiber bonnet to remove the wax or should i invest in a wool one to use with the bonnet.

Sorry for any confusion

SwirlX would be a bit redundant in your case, since you already have UP.

You're probably better off just removing the wax by hand using a MF towel.

Of the entire Detailfest live feed sessions the Barry Mequiar session was the best of them all.

Sometimes you have to step away from the products and learn about the people behind them. Now I understand why Meguiars is such a great company. It all starts at the top my friends.

That's a 10-4 Marc...

Mr. Phillips has been contacted!! :props:

:)

Sorry for the delay, I've been bombarded with PM's since before Detail Fest and here I am on Monday morning after Detail Fest playing catch-up.

I've been using Meguiar's since the 1970's, have a pretty good collection of a lot of the antique products as well as original "Lab Samples" from when I worked for Meguiar's and by default worked with the chemists with new product testing. (I kept many of the Lab Sample bottles including the samples that led up to what became NXT Tech Wax).

Spoke with Barry while he was here at Detail Fest and thanked him for when he gave me a shot at being the "Corporate Writer" for Meguiar's which I did from 2002 to 2003 and then at the end of 2003 after bringing up the Saturday classes at the Corporate Office coordinated through the use of discussion forums they basically asked me to write my own job description and I transitioned to "Internet Technical Specialist" which was their term for running the classes and the MOL forum, which I brought up in January of 2004. Mike Stoops, who was here for Detail Fest now has my old job and continues to do a great job with all the classes and the forum.

So yeah, you can add me to the list, I'm an avid Meguiar's use and fan but I'm also a a user and fan of a lot of other great brands that have been around just as long, longer and even recently introduced.

Took the opportunity to get a picture with Barry in the studio while he was here...

-Thanks Mike for taking the time to reply to, as well as acting upon the:
"join-up request"...Much appreciated. :props:

-I was watching the 2013 Detail Fest's Live Feed (Thanks Yancy) when you were thanking
Mr. Meguiar for the opportunities you were afforded while at Meguiar's.
Another fine example of your being, as usual, a real: Class Act!!!

Your choices look good to me. I enjoy removing wax with high quality microfiber towels. See Mikes article on "breaking open a coat of wax" and "creeping out". Depending on how easy the defects are removed you will need more cutting pads. I would feel comfortable with at least 5 or 6. If you do want to remove wax with the machine the included white pad will work fine with a bonnet.

I find this very interesting. Hasn't Meguiars been around since 1901?

Menzerna is from the 1800s and Blackfire is really recent in comparison.

All 3 make excellent products though! I think that is what Mike was trying to get at :props:

So much has happened since leaving Meguiar's to come to Autogeek and it's all good, very good. But I never forget my roots. In fact, I would be remiss without giving credit and also saying thank you Jack Birkby. Jack is the guy that gave me my first job with Meguiar's as an Outside Sales Rep/Trainer for Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Working at the corporate office was my second tour of duty with Meguiar's.

But back to Barry, I spoke with him briefly after attending the Chip Foose Cocktail Party and "Live Taping" of Overhaulin at SEMA last year but having him here as our VIP Guest Celebrity was awesome and the perfect place and time to genuinely tell him thank you...

Perfect. That was exactly the analogy I was trying to make.

Wow, I wasn't aware of that. 1888 in fact, after I did some research! :xyxthumbs:

Yep, 1888 and Meguiar's since 1901, so both have stood the test of time.

:xyxthumbs:

Mike, or Yancy, or I dunno.... powers that be....

When can we expect the 2013 videos to appear on the AG You Tube channel?
I caught some of it but I'd love to see the rest, and suspect many a fellow AG'er feel the same.:D

Just a big :thankyousign: in advance. ;)

Attending this session was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. I will always cherish this special moment when we were able to spend some time with a truly amazing and inspiring individual. He is living proof that passion and desire combined with caring and concern for others can push you to excel way beyond your knowledge or limits you may place upon yourself.
