I think a 3 stage process is when you use compound, swirl remover and polish. Such as m105(1st), m205(2nd) and PO85RD(3rd).
m105 with a wool pad after wetsanding is a must. it left a m205 finish on a black mustang i did. Im the MANLol.. I know what a 3 stage detail is. I was being sarcastic when I said what does their 3 stage consist of.. Holograms, swirls and RID's.
And just to clarify a compound will remove swirls. M105 followed by m205 will leave an excellent looking finish. Sometimes even m105 will look great alone.
