On the Fly Pad Cleaning

I just went out and shot a video for you. I wasn't actually polishing so the pad was clean/dry but you should be able to get the idea. Also I forgot to do it for the video, but I'll spray some pad lube to help loosen the spent product. After running the polisher with two fingers and a MF, squeezing out excess lube and polish then re-running two fingers over the surface, the pad face should look relatively clean (depending on the product used). IMO, do this after every couple sections.

I just use compressed air, when I'm detailing, and they get cleaned at after use.

I'll have to try that, you have a specific method to share? Just spray the pad with compressed air?

No prob! I forgot to mention the speed, it was at 1, I like to clean OTF slowww... careful with the MF wrapped around your fingers/wrist...

Couldn't we use the Bucket Pad Washer and then just alternate between 2 Pads?

One Pad in use, while the other one dries in the Sun ?

So long as you're not using the Hydro pads! They can not be used moist and drying time needs to be calculated in days, not hours.

Hey A4, I just wanted to say THANK YOU again. I have been using your two finger technique for the last couple days and it works like a charm! Especially wrapping the towel around your wrist first. Good stuff. I also let the brush run over the pad to open up the foam again.

I'm glad I could help! I struggled to figure out the "On the fly" technique Mike shows for PC type polishers, until I realized it won't work with the Flex. :doh: I'm sure I got the idea from someone else here... don't remember who I should credit. So, when do we get some pics of your work?

I shot another video of cleaning on the fly and figured I'd post it here. This time it's actually in the process of polishing. Here I'm using Menzerna Power Gloss with a Yellow LC pad. I love how well Menz is cleaned on the fly, but I don't have much in similar polishes to compare it to.
