Opinions on Window Tint?

Ceramic tint....wow, haven't heard of that, what's that run?

Huber Optik or pinnacle formula one. Both are quality tints. I have had the pinnacle on my Infiniti the past few years and absolutely love it.

What's the legal limit in Florida? 15% seems a little light.

Tint is measure backwards, if you ask me. It is made to BLOCK light, yet it's usually measured by light transmission instead of blockage. So, 15% in FL is really 15% Light Transmission, which means you're blocking 85% of the light, so to speak. So that's pretty dark.

Limo tint allows 5% light transmission, or as we used to say it blocks 95% of the light.

I'm not sure when they started measuring it by what it doesn't do instead of what it does do...hahha. Probably started with the way all the new laws are worded...

I love window tints, I think they are a must when you have a car because I think they complete the car. Adds UV protection, privacy and comfort which are very important for you to feel inside your car right. That is why I have been going back and forth to Car Tinting Perth

Really dark tint make's a car look unattractive imo

35% 20% anything under 20% makes it looks tacky

I think Ceramic Tint refers to a newer type of tint which outperforms the older common tints that were used years ago.

I had some of these ceramic tints demonstrated to me a few years back, that even the lighter tints outperformed the older darker tints considerably, rejecting a lot more heat pass-through.

One advantage, is in summer, especially in southern climes, they will help your A/C perform better.

Living in Los Angeles, I personally have tinted every car I have. The sun get cant crazy sometimes. IMO tint is nice to have, and does add looks. I don't know why some would consider tint "unclassy", I mean I have seen Bentley's with tint. I would never not tint the windows on my car.

only if you get mirror tint or just limo out the whole ride or do a windshield visor. Anything else that will still allow you to safely reverse at night and isn't over the top will not declass the vehicle.

I tint all my cars, for a couple reasons...

1. I like the look.
2. It helps keep the interior cool.
3. Harder for people to see in if anything is in the car, and
4. I have photosensitivity so it helps that.

Who cares if people say it looks "ghetto"... just their opinion.
Do you and rock it!

I always go with ceramic tint. Your tint guy might have a demonstration set up with a heat lamp behind conventional tint and ceramic tint. The difference in the amount of heat that is blocked by ceramic is extreme. And it's more expensive, of course.

Meh I have had several different tints in the last 10 years on different cars.

HOT is hot period with your car sitting in the sun for 8 hours. Ceramic or not it’s gonna be hot as heck when you go get in it. It’s like dust. Dust is everywhere and is gonna settle on your car regardless of LSP

It’s not a “conditioned space” while it’s just sitting there

Now while you are driving down the road with ac on. yes it rejects heat better, it really does, no denying that

Is it worth the $ ? guess depends how much you drive in the hot sunny weather

It is substantially more money around here anyways. If you just need two front windows done to match the remaining it’s not a huge extra cost. It’s when all 5/7 or so windows need done its gets pricey

I like 35% on the sides and then I do the back a bit darker. IIRC my ceramic tint is 15% on the back. I didn't do the windshield on this one but did on my Audi. The reason being is it does impact visibility at night just bit by causing slight starts around the lights since there's an adhesive layer to the tint. Normal impact but I was tired of it and wanted a more clean vision at night.

I think 35% is dark enough. If you don't have a rear back up camera I wouldn't go 15% as it makes backing up at night difficult if it's your only way of seeing what's behind you.

I’ve got ceramic tint on my BMW and it’s great. Not as dark as the old type “limo” tinted stuff. Pretty amazing at blocking heat here in S. GA. Paid about $300 for it installed and well worth it.

Install an old pioneer alpine or kenwood pull out with a EQ booster maybe pyramid brand ?
