I've been looking into Opti-Coat, greatly considering getting it for myself, but also for my dad's 2006 Toyota Tacoma. The cab and hood of his truck has been having some bad CC failure, so it's in the process of getting repainted. I told him once the paint was fully cured, I'd help him out by giving it a decent detail, wash/clay/seal kind of deal. Then Opti-Coat popped into my mind. So far I know it's meant to be permanent and it won't wash off or wear away.
Does Opti-Coat require any special treatment when it comes to maintenance? I may get this stuff for my dad's birthday and then apply it myself. I figured since he's nearly 60, he's not very much into extensive detailing, lol. So a permanent coating on his truck would be really awesome. For myself, not really sure, because I like to experiment with different sealants, do the occasional polishing, glazing, etc.
