Opti-Coated My New Exterior Trim...

There seems to be a difference when a car is maintained vrs. one that is not.
I've washed two of my clients cars in the last month that were coated over a year ago now and they are still beading like day one. The trim on my '08 TSX was still darkened and beaded water when I sold it about 18 months after applying it as well.

I can't comment on the Urethane VS. OC on being used for headlight repair, but the coating IS permanent and is only coming off with abrasion.

Not IME. :dunno:

This car sat outside 24/7 in the harsh Canadian winter and only saw touch-less washes during those winter months. Keeping in mind that the front of the vehicle sees the most abuse, this bumper cover was still beading like a champ which was enough to convince the owner to drive 6+ hours again this year to have the coating applied to the whole car, not to mention the cost of the hotel and rental car for two nights.

Other than that headlight testing I have not seen any evidence showing that it's not permanent, and Fermani's 2+ year test further supports it.

Not debating you on OC..happen to be a fan of OC. Just posted this to see if anyone else has had this experience.

I did a section on an Avalanche a few weeks back and not only did it look nice, but it did actually restore the coloring to the panel. I had lightened significantly and after coating, it looked darker and evened out versus the uncoated sections.
