hello guys i got a sweet package in the mail. Thanks to my friend nick & autogeek, i was selected to review this great product from optimum.Its one of the best carpet cleaners i've used. Today, as i was doing a client's car i encountered the nastiest carpet. Heavily dirty and very nasty. lucky for me, i packed optimum carpet & fabric cleaner. This is a real test folks. I put it to work on a daily driver and i used regular tools so everyone can see the power of the product. so here we go...

RIDGID 4-Gal. Wet/Dry Vac Model # WD4070, just bought it yesterday for my hhr unit im putting together.

i began like i always do with any carpet thats heavily dirty, by vacuuming it:



after a couple of good thorough vacuum passes, it was time to spray the product.



Optimum Carpet & Fabric Cleaner & Protectant has almost a odorless smell to it and lathers up quite well in the carpet. here's how i scrub the carpet. notice how i mask half of the carpet with blue tape so we can all see how well the product will perform.



quickly after a good scrubbing, and while most of the dirt was lifted off the carpet.. i used a microfiber towel and with a twisting technique i began to pick up any dirt that might've been left.



i quickly vacuum again after using the mf towel to unveil very dramatic results. here's the famous 50/50 shot that we all love.Optimum Carpet & Fabric Cleaner & Protectant did an excellent job cleaning this dirty carpet.



but i still had the other side to do, using the same techniques i was left with this clean and totally new carpet!



after first hand experience with this product i must say its awesome and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. extremely powerful at cleaning, and very safe to use. if youre looking for a carpet cleaner.. this is it folks, top notch product from a company we all know produces nothing but the best!

Looks great! As far as protection is concerned, does liquid bead up like it does after an application of 303 Fabric Protectant?

yea sorry dave, i was uploading all the pics to the gallery and typing everything up. i tried to edit, but the system told me it was pass 20 mins or something and i couldnt add the remaining part so i did another post.

hello quicksilver, i forgot to take pictures of the protection power it has.. i had to finish that interior quick and move on to the next car.. but to answer your question, yes, it does bead up liquid and protects.
 
looks good... if protection is there it might be worth it.. otherwise folex will prob do as good or better

The description on AGO does not claim water repellency?

Can you post some beading shots?

i regret not taking the "beading pictures" but like i mentioned before i was in a hurry and i had to be out of there quick.
sorry guys, it's my first review and i guess i didnt take in consideration on reviewing ALL of the products capabilities. i was more concern on showcasing the cleaning qualities this great product delivers and i didnt focus much on the "PROTECTANT" aspect of it. i promise that when i come across another carpet thats equally dirty, ill post the "beading" pictures.

Are you using recommended dilution ratio?
 
This carpet cleaner/protectant is not meant to bead water. It's protectant is more meant to help against re-soiling.

thank you! to be honest i didnt, since the carpet was in pretty bad shape i just threw a spray nozzle in the bottle and used it like that. extra strength power.

perhaps its not meant to bead water like you say, but it does clean extremely well. ill check back with you guys to see how well it performed as a protectant / re-soiling capabilities.
 
A protectant for carpets that doesn't shed water?
 
Just got some and I can't wait to use it!

Easy enough. Spray, wipe and vac. I wish every detail was that easy!
