Optimum Compound II, anyone use it?

They finish better so that may make them seem less aggressive but they will remove the same defects quickly but leave it looking better.

yeah dude i'm convinced - i'm switching over to the new stuff.

Chris, how does Compound II (the old one) compare with Menzerna Power Finish?

The new Hyper's work very well. We have been testing and tweaking the Hyper Polish II for a god while now and it's shaping up to be a perfect companion to Hyper Compound, both spray and liquid.

The Hyper Polish II (the beta version I have now) cuts Hyoer-Compounds swirls and leaves a ready to seal finish on Mercedes ceramaclear black paint IF you allow it to be worked properly.

I had Hyper Compound beta samples when Compound II (original) was released and I had quite a bit of M105 so I never really used it much. I still have an 8 oz size on my shelf untouched. Sorry, maybe someone else can comment.

Chris,
I have a question regarding the proper speed setting for this product using a DA polisher such as the Griot's Garage polisher.

I believe that if you want to correct paint defects, you typically want to be in the 5-6 range.

The instructions for this product state: "When using a medium or heavy cut foam pad, the compound will remove 1500 sand scratches and lighter at 1000-1400 RPM."

According to this link (Porter cable 7424xp, 7424xp, Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher, Porter Cable polisher, car polisher, buffer, sander-polisher), the speed range of the Porter Cable 7424 is 2500-6800 opm. I assume the Griot's Garage polisher has the same range. I also assume that oscillations per minute and revolutions per minute are equivalent, but I'm not sure about that.

If these assumptions are correct, is it true that the lowest setting on a DA polisher is more than fast enough to get the maximum benefit from this product? If not, what is the proper speed setting to use this product on a DA polisher and foam pad?

With a DA you need to use speed 5 to 6 to get best results. The DA speed cannot be compared to the rotary speed.

I don't have a griots and my PC is on carpet duty, but my Flex D A likes the 4-5 range.
