Optimum Hyper Polish

Looks good, but I wonder why no lights were used in the before and after shots. Mike is always using his swril finder light.
That's a good point. Also, in his videos he never does IPA wipedowns. IPA wipedowns can make a big difference. Not a knock on Mike, it's just something I wondered about.

YES!!!!! My OHPS arrived this evening!! I have a 2009 F-150 King Ranch 4x4 to detail tomorrow and Friday. I'm very sure the truck will be in good shape, although, I hope it isn't so I could use the spray polish on it.

Some negative reviews on other forums about miro marring. Dunno

Might be a learning curve issue also... and finding what pads work better with it?

Just for what it's worth...

We have to keep videos under 10 minutes long... That's a challenge because just like I'm a Long Copy Writer, I'm a Long Copy Speaker and it would be real easy to take something real simple and make it a mini-series.

And I've posted this before and I'll post it again... anytime anyone launches a new product one of the things the manufacture will be looking for is feedback, the challenge for most people is to find away to present feedback in a way that is positive and helps... not just complain...

Folks. this product ROCKS!!!!! I has working on this truck:

BEFORE2009F-150KR-02.jpg

Yesterday and did not complete is since my hands did not get in until 10:30AM. I had to get it back to him by 4PM. It took over two hours just to wash it with those rims and some of the undercarage. The undercarage was not the priority on this project though. Those rims are a PITA!!!

Back to the Hyper Polish. Dust? What's dust? The polish spray will last for a good amount of time and really does not have dust almost anywhere. Just look at your pad and you will see that the pad still is has the polish spray on it, so, that will save you on money doing yout detail work. Enough said till I finish the truck. :cruisin:

Well, dang it!!! My client just texted me and told me he has to go to his other office today, so, I will not get the truck back till next week. I will have to go outside and clean up my Mazda, Hyper Polish it, Max Wax it and Opti-Seal it. I will take some before and after pics of it, of course.

Did you spray the hyper polish directly onto the paint, or onto the pad? What pads did you use with HP?

Interesting concept, but why do I need to spray a polish when it's just as easy to put a dab or two on my pad or a line on the panel and pick it up with a rotary. Be pretty hard to compete with Meg's 105/205 or Menzerna's line.

Agree, but I'm intriqued by the concept. I like the OPT products I've tried thus far. Going to do a side by side next week.

I have a bottle on the way. Are you saying if I find problems with it I should not complain on this forum?

Come on Ron, you know he means that people want constructive criticism and not just senseless complaining.

So if I found that it left miro marring on my paint...is that constructive criticism or a complaint?

Complain or give feedback, your choice.

Me? I worked at Hewlett-Packard for a number of years and one of the rules for attending meetings was if you were going to point out a problem you also had to offer up a solution, you couldn't just point out problems. This taught me a valuable lesson that I practice to this day.

David's new polish is new, if after using it you find room for improvement I've found David the kind of person that wants feedback.

How's that?

:)

Fair enough Mike. Lesson well learned from HP.

Yeah, it was really a good lesson to learn. Where I worked there were 5000 employees in one gated enclosure. There were two gyms, two restaurants on site, a Taco Bell, on site and I think an Ice Cream place.

This was towards the end of their peak in Corvallis, Oregon before many of the jobs were moved overseas.

Point being was this place was the biggest company I ever worked for and we had a lot of meetings, we had meetings on meetings and it was important to make sure meetings were successful. It's real easy to complain, ask me I'm pretty good at it. Everyone's good at it, it takes a little work to bring a new idea to the table or even a suggestion for improvement.

But yeah, even though I never really like working there because it had nothing to do with cars, it was a good experience.

I was "The Car Guy" at HP, at least one of them, I usually drove one of my 1959 Cadillacs to work or my 1966 Milk Truck, it was pretty easy to see when I was at work via the parking lot.

Here's my 1966 Chevrolet Milk Truck with a 1950 Studebaker Starlight Coupe
with a Carson Top at the GoodGuys Show in Puyallup, Washington in about 2001

Here's my 1959 Flattop at a car show in Lebanon, Oregon, around 2001 also...

As for micro-marring with the new polish?

I've only worked on 4 or 5 cars so far with this new product and I've been testing different pads and tools with it and then inspecting the results. I also test on a black paint panel, so far I've had good luck getting it to finish out very nice, not always 100% perfect after an alcohol or MS wipe down, but pretty nice. I've had best results finishing with a DA Polisher and a soft finishing pad.

I'm still new to Optimum products so I need to spend more time with their complete product line on more paint systems.

I've passed my results on always in an honest and friendly way and they've always been well-received.

:)

Your the man Mike! I hate "Meetings about meetings" LOL

I really want to give hyper polish a try... Next order.

You are a gentleman Mike. What happened to that milk truck and caddy? Is that a Studdy?

Those are called regrets...

I sold the Milk Truck after about 6 months into my job at Meguiar's as I just didn't need it anymore. I forgot I wanted it. When I went to work for Meguiar's in 2002 I drove it from Oregon to Irvine, California and that was my daily driver, (it was my daily driver in Oregon too :D ) It had a 396 big block Chevy engine in it and a Turbo 400 with a Lokar Shifter, it was pretty cool and fun to drive. Lots of Milk Truck Story's including one that includes Chip Foose and Christopher Titus.

When I took the job working for Meguiar's I also sold the Flattop as well as all the rest of my Cadillacs except for the one I hot-rodded with a 468 big block Chevy and Turbo 400 and then just 2 years ago I sold it.

Should have never sold the Sanger Drag Boat either... oh well...

Also, that is a Studebaker in the picture, I added that to the post above a second ago. It was a 1950 Starlight Coupe, the guy that built it also has the exact same car in the most original condition possible. I had a chance to see them both side-by-side in his garage and it was unreal how nice the all original version was and the hot-rodded version was a blast to drive around in.
