OK recently did a comparison of:
Meguiar's Tire and Trim Gel
Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel
Forever Black Tire Gel
Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel
Adam's Super VRT Tire & Trim Dressing
They are ordered in my choice of best results
Prep one tire off car inside controlled heat.
Mytee Steamer with microfiber towel
DP Tire Cleaner + Restorer and stiff plastic fiber brush-2 application
Final Mytee Steamer clean and blow dry with Heat Gun
The Skinny
Not much difference between dressings
Meg's was #1 because I was going for a more satin finish
Optimum Opti-Bond was not quite as satin and more of a matte finish
Forever Black was richest black color but harder to get consistent matte finish
Wolfgang's Black Diamond used to be my go to gel, especially if needed quick TouchUp. Finish is about same as Forever Black but not as deep black
Adam's Super VTR was too thin and smeared easily. Might be good as spray product and not a gel like the others
Conclusions
A properly cleaned tire probably looks as close to new as you would want. But if you want to step it up a notch then a dressing is what you want. The amount of gloss is personal preference. None of these were tested for longevity or protection capabilities, just looks. All were easy to apply following manufactures instruction
Final word
All are OK products and should be used based on personal preference.
Not a comprehensive review but just my own recent comparison
