Optimum Opti-Clean

How do you use too much if it's a waterless wash?Feed back please

It's technically a "spray & wipe." The waterless is only from the fact that you don't need a hose or to fill a bucket. I got the concentrate that mixes 3:1 with water. When I said I used too much, I meant I got some streaks on the glass that did not appear on the paint. The instructions state to use 1-2 sprays on glass and I just covered them like I did on the paint. I'm assuming this is because it leaves behind some protection in addition to the cleaning agents and the actives don't bond to glass as transparently as they do to paint. I have found this to be the case when I used too much OID and OCW on glass as well, that's why I blame my technique and not the product. Hope this helps:xyxthumbs:

I know you guys really provide Dr. G. great feedback. Thanks for making Optimum products what they are! Arent they also working on a spray version of the finishing polish too?

I haven't tested any, but I have heard that too.

One more comment on the OptiClean: How freakin cool is it that you can use it on interior surfaces as well?

maybe this is the same reason people find OID streaky ?

Its pretty freakin' cool> I got 3 gallons when it was initially on sale @ $29 and got 15% off of that. I will not be running out anytime soon. Can you compare it to PB S & W or DP WW?

Unless it was mass hypnosis from reading that other thread, it initially DID say $29.99 for the gallon (I think  )
It wasnt hypnosis! I got my confirmation at work and it was $29 before the 15% Labor Day code, I dont know why it jumped to $39 on Saturday!

I'm sorry, I can't compare it to the others because I haven't used them.

I don't really get it.. I don't see how a product can work both on paint and interior? I have a QD with sealant in it. I wont put it on my door panel and I won't use optimum protectant plus to shine my paint.

I'm too skeptical. I prefer to use 2 products.

It's because polymers are polymers... and thats all either leaves behind ;) same protection

Great deal! Gonna be great for wiping down that XLR after a Sunday drive! (nice car and color, BTW)
Thank you for the kind words. I pretty much use ONR or DP WW on her. SHE IS A REal garage queen and doessnt see rainey days. I still cant bring myself to ONR the wheels. I break out the hose and do a traditional wash on the wheels and wells.

IF dR. g. SEZ IT, i BELIEVE IT!

You are kidding right?

A polymer is a repeating chain of monomers, in that sense all polymers are probably the same, but that don't make all polymers the same.

The term polymer as it's used in the car detailing world is a "Catch All Phrase", (or catch all word), that is it's used so generically that it has no specific meaning. This is a good example why unless your a chemist, it's best not to try to talk their lingo or we will all just end up embarrassing ourselves.

You skin is a polymer and Carnauba wax is a polymer, they are both completely different animals than the polymer that Opti-Clean leaves behind on the paint.

I'm sure it work great on paint, but I will prefer to use a product that work 100% great on interior than one that does only half as good as protectant+

Don't worry about what others like. Use what you like and as Mike says, "use it often."

We'll find out soon enough if a single product does everything better than well. Just leave yourself enough wiggle room to change your mind if it does.

I used it on an interior yesterday that just needed dusting and it did really well. There is NO residue or shine added to interior surfaces, just looks clean. Maybe I can finally stop buying Meg's Quik Interior Detailer in those tiny bottles...we'll see.

Thats way cool! Sounds like 1Z Cockpit. I got some on the way to SC!

Very intrigued with this product. Love the idea of being able to spray it around the windows, trim, chrome, etc and not worry about over spray. Definitely on my list of must tries. Lawd how this list keeps growing  //bluegoose//
