Ok, I have literally re-read about every post on every detailing board about Opti-seal from those who actually used it. Some idea's come to mind:
1. Was the product I got a different version versus final release ??
could be......you got a sample........
2. Using a cloth applicator versus foam sponge making a difference ??
YES!!! why a cloth pad where the foam pad is whats recomended![]()
3. Used to much, strange since use same ZCS meaning less finicky ??
forget C.S.this O.S. is a different animal........and goes on thinner than C.S.
4. Was bottle used something prior, and residue remained ??
COULD BE FROM ANOTHER SAMPLE BOTTLE......YOU NEED TO TRY A PRISTINE NEW PRODUCT
5. Was something in Poorboys Spray/Wipe counterreacting with OS ??
COULD BE.......IM USING FK 425 OR BLITZ FROM C.G.
I am boggled, as I truly wanted this to work and work well. Now even a quick qd'er wipe down is faster than buffing an entire car, but not what the product was designed to do .... wheres Anthony when we need him most ??
Al-53 said:Not to take away from PB's S&W but last year I used S&W to clean off the pollen ..truck was washed day before..so it was clean...I did a wipe down of S&W and a hour later did AW...AW streaked like it never did..it was the first time it ever streaked on me...I then used FC&S over the rest of the truck to see if it would clean off what ever S&W left...later that night I did AW again and no streaking...
Out of curiosity I did the hood of my GF's Honda with S&W and later tried AW..same thing...streaking..it was almost like a hazed wax look..buffing did not remove it so easy...so I had to use FC&S again to remove it...never had a problem with S&W with other products..just this one....seemed like a bad reaction...the AW was hazing and streaking...thats never happened before..

GregCavi said:Nice writeup. I see you used Z8 prior to CS. It is best to use Z6 instead of Z8 as CS over Z8 may cause some streaking.
gotta remember I didnt get the foam applicator, nor directions, just a bottle that was offered as Opti-seal with some scribling. So I treated it exactly as I did CS. I would not in any way consider the application heavy. I am well versed in sealants and learned alot from the original Zaino line. (less is more)Bill said:try the foam pad and not so heavy applied........
dennish said:Just read this -- I went out and put 4 full spray in between the strips on the Mini Cooper's hood and just lightly wiped it around with sponge applicator. You could see the liquid on the hood and NO streaking and not even a hit of holograming just took a few extra minutes to dry. I have done 7 coats now and not one holigram and only a couple of spots on the strips on the mini that even looked the least bit like a streak.
Hopefully it was a old beta sample and that had known problems.

I say that's wet!dennish said:I would say it on the same level as Wolfgang.

These two look the same, maybe one is a little darker. So one is glass the other is paint! WOW!
