Optimum Opti-Seal

Gary I highly suggest trying both versions, Optiseal and Zaino CS at the same time. Report your results ... yellows, blacks, are reds are very reflective and clearly show differences in gloss, streaking, and ease of use.

Here ya go Gary, Optiseal on a signal green Porche (pictures are property of Anthony Orosco):

I have seen these pictures before Dennis. Anthony is a great detailer and always does some great work. It is one of the shinnest details I have seen with Opti-Seal. Most details I have seen with the product don't look so shinney. I know Anthony did a great job polishing the car and it probably had a very good shine without anything on it. It looks good but the only thing that picture does for me is want to have the Porsche painted (due to the color and not Anthony's work or Opti-Seal). Optimum makes some fine products but I have never been impressed with Opti-Seal. At $25.00 for 8oz and looking at the majority of details I've seen done with it I feel no need to run out and purchase the product.

Well folks, I bought this product the first day it was available and don't believe I gave it a fair chance upon my first review. There were some people, including myself that used it and had light streaking that could be easily wiped away and was thought due to applying over a carnauba. I don't know if that was the issue or not, but I decided to break it out again and use it on my car today and I have to say I got absolutely NO streaking at all and was incredibly easy to apply. If I don't think a product is worthy I don't discuss it, but if I do think it's worth mentioning I like to let you all know. If you haven't tried this out yet, I suggest doing so as it provides a nice wet look with great protection and is super easy to use. I've found that I really like this product and found it deserved a second chance and I'm glad I did!

These were taken after riding 30 minutes through a rainstorm tonight after applying 1 coat of Optiseal last night. Sorry about the lighting....I need Carlos and his buddy to come hook me up some more lighting:D . I don't know for sure, but I think this is glossy and has a lot of depth....what do you think? I had to take them in my garage because it was pouring out.

See Gary, I always keep my promises;)

I just looked at the pics and it looks like theres holograms or something in most of them, but I assure you there are none. I had to resize the pictures which may have messed with the look of the image. If you want full size pics, PM me your email and I will send you the original size ones so you can see for yourself;)

It looks pretty good Dennis but not as good as when you detailed it with Souveran Paste. It looks like a grey car in the pictures.

dengood, the pictures look good to me...very nice reflection and depth to it...looks really good. To be honest I've been ingnoring this proeduct but it looks really nice.

Oh about the lighting...wish I could buddy..wish I could...I love working in the garage ;)

There are a lot of great products out there and I just revisited this one and thought I'd share. You can't go wrong with Souveran, although it is almost 4 times the price of OS.;)

I was ehh with the opti seal at best....to get it not to streak, you had to almost apply it as if you were putting nothing on. I sold mine 2 days after I purhased it. The "look" was no look, it looked like putting shiny clear stuff, on well, a shiny car (polished properly). Honestly, that Green 911 would look the same just polished and quick detailed. I don't like overly "shiny" cars, more of a wax/nuba looking sealant guy. I know I'm in the minority here, but even if I could save time with OS, I don't care much, I'd rather spend 20 min putting on a coat of Souveran or Natty's Blue and have a "look" I like.

From what I've seen that's pretty much how I feel about it. There are a lot of products that look alot better IMO.

I'm with you on this one buddy, I too prefer the look of a nice sealant with a wax/nuba look. I'm all about the wet look :D

ME TOO:) .Soveran liquid topper on my silver beauty gets me going every time:)

A few days ago dengood1 posted his experience with os. Based on that post I decided to give os another try. I did 1/2 of my hood and had a few streaks, but wiped off with a mf very easily. After an hour I saw no difference between the other half that had ss11 on it. So I went over the other half and put the os back on the shelf. I never really run my fingers over the paint, but for some reason I did swipe my fingers on the roof this morning and the surface felt gritty. So I tried the hood and to my surprise, it was a little dusty, but smooth and slick, no grit. So I got some qd (fcs) and went over the entire car. My car is normally garaged during the day at work, but today I had alot of running around to do. It was a sunny day (89) and when I got back the same thing happened. The hood was a little dusty, but very smooth and slick. The rest of the car felt like little bumps inbedded in the paint. Do you think that because of the hot weather the ss11 might be attracting dust particles and the os because its a sealant and perhaps harder is repelling it? That"s the only conclusion that I can come up with.Feed back please
Oh, I forgot to add that after qding the whole car, everthing was smooth and slick.

Guys.....I never said I was comparing it with anything, nor did I say it was my favorite LSP. I just happened to pull it off the shelf, try it again, and post the results. I thought it looked decent and was very easy to apply and didn't have any streaking this time, which is the main reason I posted this because when it first came out I had some also, but this time I didn't:confused: . It's not my favorite LSP, but it's a'ite. I'm definitely more of a nuba guy than a sealant guy. Thanks for your thoughts....

Hey dengood1, if it wasn't for your post I would have never tried os again. I'm on my way to qd again. If tomorrow I get the same results as today, I will be os my whole car. I still can't explain the reason for the slickness vrs. the roughness of the ss11, but if it works I'll stick with it. Again, thanks for the post.

The slickness is the anti-static dust repelling properties i find most prevalent in some sealers and QDer's, also very much so on UPP. it is very rewarding:)

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant also leaves any surface very slick. It also has more of a warm glow of a nuba vs. the hard cold shine of Opti-Seal and many other sealants. Opti-Seal may have more durability. I can't really say because I've never tried it.

That's what's wrong - "never tried it" but it has a hard cold shine - Buddy, I have used WG sealer and after putting OS on my Rav4 (flint mica) and my wife's Sienna (burgandy) there's NO going back to WG. Frankly, I like the Optimum line for compounds and polishes over any of the other products I've tried: WG, XMT, Megs, 3M, Presta, Chemical Guys opps - I mean Poor Boys!

I'm not sure what you are trying to say by your comments. If you are saying Wolfgang DGPS has a hard cold shine I would completely disagree with you. I don't think OS looks that good so I would never put it on one of my cars. I don't care how long it suppose to last. Looks are the most important thing to me. If it don't look good I would want it to hurry up and wear off. If you like the look go ahead and use it. I respect your opinion and everyone is entitle to have one. I think Optimum does make some excellant compounds and polishes.
