Quick question - can Optimum spray wax be used as you are drying you car or is it best on a dry surface? I normally use hydro but am out but I do have a bottle of unused Optimum.
Thanks
It shouldn't be diluted for best performance. Instant Detailer would be a better drying aid. But, if you make a single drying pass and the apply it with on residual water on the paint, it does fine without durability suffering.
I like to ONR, one drying pass, OCW, buff till dry and slick. This is a super fast way to wash and wax without 50 trips around the car.
I use it when drying the paint - works very well

I believe Chris answered your question. It has to do with durability.Out of interest why is OCW not recommended for wet paint

Hey Chris, I would agree that OID makes for an excellent drying aide, but I also use it as an instant detailer. IME, OID doesn't leave the paint surface slick (tho very shinny) which is why I like to follow the the Opti Spray Wax.
I think I gave the wrong impression with my first reply, although I had no problems with OCW on wet paint I use it on damp paint after ONR initial wipe with a towel

Sometimes I frighten myself with my stupid questions
I addressed the water issue because OCW is often compared on the forums to AquaWax, which is designed to be used on a wet car. They are similar in the ease of use and they both smell great, but that's about it.
Is this thread about a QD or a spray wax/I just finished my 32oz bottle of OID and currently using UWW+ at a QD dilution. I have to say I miss OID and I am surprised because I thought UWW+ would work better. Specificially, OID just feels like it picks up dirt better and the MF towel glides better across the surface. Looks like I'll be getting OID back in inventory. I'm kinda hoping it will be on BOGO soon.
