how is this ? does it leave a wet look? or matt look? does anyone have a pic of this on there tires i can look at thanks

It's a water-based dressing so it is definitely not a gel. It leaves a matte finish. When doing a vehicle, I spray the tire shine on the tires and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow it to soak into the rubber. Then, I go back with an old dedicated MF towel and swipe away all of the excess. Here's a couple pics:

i was kinda hopeing for more of a shine.it seems like you wont get a nice shine un less you go with silicone dressings . and i keep hearing there not good for tires.

Guys Tommy has not been feeling well at all! So I will just ask for him... he must have forgot. What color is it and what does it smell like. I think the poor guys sniffer is broken. :D

Ok, I just went and took a big wiff of the 1-gallon jug of OTS, and there's no scent. And it's white. Sorry to disappoint! hehe

Water-based dressings have their drawback, but for me I like it because 1) it's easy/fast to apply 2) leaves a matte finish 3) it's environmentally friendly.

mshu7 Thanks! I know Tommy will appreciate this!

I've been on an eternal search for the "best" tire dressing. I am a regular and satisfied aficionado of three Optimum products (OOS, OPS, ONR), but never used the tire shine.

I currently use the Ultima Tire guard (the only Ultima product I use regularly), and like both the look and longevity - the best longevity I've found.

How is longevity of the Optimum Tire Gel? (Either in general or vis-a-vis Ultima T&TG...)

TIA

No problem, Tonya!

Longevity isn't great, honestly. That's the big drawback to water-based dressings. But like I said, it's easy to apply and isn't greasy so there's not really any mess. I've used numerous tire products and because of those reasons and the ones in my previous post, it's what I use on my customers cars exclusively now.

I've not used Ultima's product so I cannot compare, sorry.

I love the Optimum Tire shine so far, I'm just into the matte gloss.
