Oxe. with PC DA

can you remove oxidisation with a DA buffer???:buffing:
You most certainly can! A DA is a very versitile machine and choosing the proper pads and products along with good technique.....you can do just about anything except burn the paint!

Jim nailed it.

With a Porter Cable 7424XP I have removed light to medium oxidation with a light polish and a cutting pad. Also left the paint with a glossy look.

You sure can. I've done it quite a few times. I actually prefer it to remove oxidation cause more than likely the oxidation is because of single stage paint. A DA will get the job done is a less aggressive manner.

When you're removing oxidation...you're literally removing a layer of paint. IMO, a DA will remove that layer with less cut than a rotary, therefore saving you some paint in the long run. :xyxthumbs:

What pad?wool?

I have three pads for my new pc .

Cutting yellow
Polishing white
Finishing/waxing black

Wool would be great if its with a rotary, but its kind of underwhelming if you use it with a PC7424.

The Surbuff is probably what you wanna look at but the life of the pad is short. You can try Yellow/Orange Pad or a MF Cutting disc to try to get oxidation out if its that bad.
