Pan the Organizer product line...let's discuss@

Isn’t that why most people hate Chemical Guys? The whole 16oz. bottle deal? It comes off that way and I wouldn’t be interested.

I will defend 16oz bottles, but not Chemical Guys.

Now that I'm down to maintaining two cars on a regular basis and a third on an occasional basis, 16oz for some products is perfect for me. being stuck with larger quantities of things like polish, QD/topper spray, or interior products means I'm locked into using one product for good or bad, for many years. I like the fact that 16oz bottles of some products will last me about a warm season or two and then I have the ability to decide whether to re-supply or move on to something better.

When Blackfire changed to a more pro customer base all of their bottles increased in size too. That's great for the business owner, but it pretty much pushed me away to other brands because I didn't need a lifetime supply of their polishes.

Even today, the only products I buy in gallon jugs are car wash soap and wheel cleaner. Bug remover and APC come in concentrate so the 32oz bottle of those will last two or three years based on their ratio. My 16oz ECH2O bottle has been around for so long, I don't remember when I bought it.

Now back to the bashing of the YT flavor of the day brands....

I guess that didn't sink in that everything Blackfire is in quarts. They do show the compound and polish in 8 oz in addition to the quart. They even have Blackfire Tire & Trim Sealant (BTTS) which comes in an 8oz bottle, that everybody seemed to like, but I thought they stopped making. I never tried it because I bought a big bottle of WETS (Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant) when it came out, that seems to last forever.

I prefer 16oz bottles of products for testing and evaluation purposes as well, even if you are frequently paying double the per oz rate, because it's better than being stuck with a quart of trash bin detailing spray

If I like it and I actually need lots of that product I can usually buy a gallon to refill the 16oz, but more often than not, like @Desertnate, I use way less than I anticipate and the 16oz is good to go for quite a long time

I also prefer 16oz spray bottles for stuff like interior cleaner because you can set it in a cup holder as you are working instead of having to set it on a floor mat and have it tip over and then you are reaching and bending

I'm not very flexible anymore

The smaller bottles of some products came out a couple years after the re-branding. I and I'm pretty thankful for that but by the time they showed up, I had moved on. When I owned German cars, their Compound worked really well. That larger bottle does work pretty well or the floor mat cleaner because I can use quite a bit when doing mats for our two vehicles.

I agree buying a 16 oz bottle of a product for evaluation makes complete sense. Or something like polish which I don't use often. However if I find a product that performs to my liking then I prefer purchasing in a greater quanity container as to make the product more economical. In addition some products cannot be purchased locally and buying a gallon vs buying a 16 oz container greatly reduces shipping frequency therefore shipping costs.
I am not one to jump on the next greatest product. If I'm willing to buy a gallon of something I most times liked it's performance and quite possibly that next greatest product is not significantly better. In addition seeing as I only maintain my four vehicles which only two are daily drivers by the time I finish that gallon 3 or 4 next greatest products may have come along.
So by purchasing products by the gallon I avoid the whole disappointment of buying the next greatest product only to have it knocked off its throne by its sucessor.

I have some of the Blackfire Finishing Polish from a hundred years ago, back when Todd Helme was working at CMA, it was just some (supposedly) tweaked Menzerna P0106FA.

I like having *choices*. For the first time of something I've never used before or something I think I probably won't need a lot of, 16 oz is a great option and I accept the per unit pricing is higher. If it's something I find I like or use a lot I want to have the option to buy in bulk with a price that reflects that as well (and that initial purchase has usually provided me with a reusable spray bottle or what-not to refill, so one can look at that as something of an investment). If a product is only offered in one size that doesn't fit my needs (whether that's only small or only bulk, whatever) I'll tend to shy away from it unless I find it's just so much better than the other available options. That's what's nice about competition, I get to make those choices that fit my needs.

Absolutely, and a throwaway grade bottle and sprayer will keep me from even trying a product line

I spend more on Method brand household cleaning products because they work, are pleasant to use, and come with a top notch bottle and sprayer that I can easily repurpose

IMO there’s no comparison between Blackfire Trim & Tire Sealant & WETS, with the Blackfire being a far superior product that truly lives up to its name while WETS might as well be what it looks & feels like which to me is basically Baby Oil and offers not much more than a quick short lived shine that won’t even last through a single afternoon before fading back to where it was before.

McKee’s Plastic Trim Restorer is ideal for plastic trim that’s in new condition, anything beyond that or asking it to do anykind of restoring and it’s an absolute dud.
The Blackfire product is a super impressive, long lasting, non greasy, plastic trim restorer/sealant.

As far as bottle size, when it comes to something I use lots of I can’t have enough of it. I keep 2 Megs bottles of APC around and they’re constantly needing to be refilled, same thing with wheel & tire cleaner, always seem to find both bottles running low…

I started looking into the Koch Chemie line and found a few videos where dudes did a great job of breaking everything down but for everything they raved about I found myself already more than content and even the 1 that peaked my interest the most, the Koch Chemie Guf, I already have Mothers B2B Tire Renew which works waterless and has always provided the same results at a far cheaper price + can be found locally if needed.

I can't wait to watch a truely unbiased review of these CLEAN products and if they're just MEH, what he says

I feel like the 3 brands there are basically going to be all the same sans color and smell

With Jimbos topping them all?lol.

1 thing I respect about Jimbo is he works alone for the most part. He doesn’t need a gang of cronies to go around kissing his butt. He does his thing and doesn’t reach out for support or “collab” every other video…

I am sincerely curious to know whose review you would consider as "unbiased"?

It seems to me that the professionals that I would trust don't really do product by product reviews of every new boutique brand

And it seems like the rest of the "Turtle Wax Mafia" (a term I coined after that huge TW meet and greet when the HS line was revealed) just go in a big circle kissing each other's a**** and spewing the same old Rah Rah Rah reviews

I guess it is up to @The Guz to keep it honest and real

It’ll probably have to meet 1 important criteria: That person cannot aspire to attend SEMA.

Once they become part of SEMA all bets are off. Once you go SEMA it’s all about the money and scratching each others backs. Offer your real objective opinion and risk being outcast or fear of even worse.

Go to SEMA solo and come out mostly solo [because not going to SEMA is a bit harsh]
Once again I tend to respect Jimbo for these same reasons.

Has anyone mentioned? "Keep it Tight Keep it Clean". Oh my...morons really can make it. Look at Mark Cuban. lol

I watched a few videos of Pan recently, he really doesn't seem to know how to detail either. He's almost afraid of the car or something.

Long time ago I asked if he was talking about “man ass” in regards to that statement…

He actually laughed his ass off and explained that no, that’s not what he meant by that.

Really? I've found WETS to be very good, and last a long time. I've almost dropped the bottle many times because the stuff is so slippery. It's possible they've changed it because my bottle is from when it first came out, 1946 I think.

Well yes, the Guz is one and the other is our own DFB (Deyon), the latter not a YouTuber but goes into massive detail about the products he uses

Yeah that TWHS group was yucking it up and yeah, I've been a repeat customer of several of those products but TW themselves have been kinda quiet, sans Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat which is a sleeper product but because it's aligned with him it may be over looked by snobs, hell, I almost overlooked it and I'm glad I tried it

I think our own members, Guz, Deyon and "maybe" Jon from Forensic can surely be trusted...IMHO

But he's kinda of a DB IMO, other than what you said, could you really like him? Did you know he too has a specific line of products
