PB Wheel Sealant OR DP Wheel Glaze??

Save yourself some money. Just use the same sealant that you use on your paint.
 
Put some OC on and be done with it.

I had DP prior to the OC. It was OK.
 
I use Collinite # 845 for wheels or UPGP or UTTG. I gave away nearly a quart of PB Wheel Sealant because I think that it doesn't last more than a week. I tried it on several cars and was disappointed every time.

I completely agree :iagree:; if paint products (sealant/waxes) are good enought to protect your paint from the blazing hot sun ect ect, they are more than capable to protect your wheels.

I used Opti-Seal as my initial wheel coating followed by Optimum Spray Car Wax for maintenence. In fact, I read that Opti-Seal is great for exhause pipes...I am going to try that this week

I like opti-seal of 845 myself. I typically go for opti-seal because it is wowa and that saves 10 minutes of stress on my knees.
 
I have both. i use Ultima trim and tire guard on my wheels. if I had to choose between those 2 though..it would be poorboys hands down. DP wheel glaze sucks. It is a PITA to remove..it leaves a BUNCH of white chalky residue behind. Poorboys wipes off as easy as fuzion and leaves no white powder.
 
I have been using UTTG. Maybe I should put powerlock or 845 on them...
Just didn't know if these wheel glazes are worth it...

yep, whatever you use on your paint.
I had to toss my wheel protection products also. No shelf life. One got a mold in it.
Now if they are chrome I used DG Aquawax, but I've heard don't coat chrome.
 
if you already use UTTG on them dont bother using anything else..that stuff will last for a long time for protection
 
Cane, I have used Wheel wax. And I will say this. Save your money!!! Get some Opti-Seal or #845. I use Opti-Seal now as it is so easy to apply and last longer than Wheel wax. Also you don't have to remove any residue like you do with other waxes or sealants.
 
After many applications of DP wheel glaze I've switched to UPGP or Opti-seal. The glaze is just way to much work for the protection it gives. I clean with just water and a wheel mitt and the protection is gone after a week or 2. UPGP seams to last much longer and its SOOO much easier to use. Just my $0.02

Yeah I am...it is when I come to wash them, I still see the brake dust and such not rinse way like I want. So I was thinking another product might be better.

for sure. a money saver. i have a jar of wheel wax that is great for what it is. but last detail i put on two coats of SNH on the wheels.
 
I honestly don't know if you will get any better protection or spray off cleaning from a "dedicated" wheel glaze/sealant vs UTTG.

I have been using another brand of wheel sealant for the past couple of years. With the sealant, I can typically just use car soap and brushes to clean up bimmer brake dust. The sealants are not perfect, they just help make wheel cleaning easier.

I need to reapply Wheel Guard every month or so, and especially after I use a wheel cleaner. One of my tricks is to use ONR at the clay lube dilution rate to spray on the wheels before cleaning the wheels instead of a wheel cleaner. ONR shouldn't affect the wheel sealant and helps leave the wheels shiny clean.

For what it is worth, I do not plan on buying another container of the wheel sealant or another dedicated wheel sealant again as I think that a standard paint sealant, UTTG or WETS will do the same thing.

I am currently experimenting with UTTG and WETS on two different cars. The UTTG seems to be doing a great job and super easy to use. I should get a look at the WETS wheels sometime this week which were nice and slick when I finished with them.
 
Even though I have some wheel wax(not the one on AG) I rarely use it. I end up putting some DGPS or 845 on them. Any paint sealant or wax should work fine.
